Got an SMS from +447536006256 on 06/11/2008 at 1146 saying:

!!urgent!!!large parcel awaiting delivery-please call now on-+43820990912-regards-international parcel deliveries


It's a scam, I am not expecting packages or messages from them.

Got the same sms from +447536005961 on 06/11/2008 at 12:26 saying:

!!URGENT!!Large Parcel Awaiting Delivery Please Call Now On +43820990912 Regards International Parcel Deliveries


I too am not expecting any parcel, thought immediately it was a bit odd and so googled the number and text and found this site. Don't call if you ask me.

i just got the same text message as above, again I am not expecting any international deliveries...

However the original number is different from above +447532381965

I got two of these messages this morning and concluded a scam

Just received this message and immediately suspected it was a scam. Why do they bother? Is anyone who runs this website following up our comments??!!

Same here and +43 it's Austria. ...820 ? sounds like a BIG phone bill ;]

I have received the exact message as mentioned above. I am not expecting any parcels so suspected something doggy is going on and went for a search and saw this page. It must be a scam! How do they get our numbers?! The number they tell me to call is +43820990912, but it was txt by +447536006412 which uses orange network as i tried to reach them at fisrt and went straight to the answer phone!

got the same message it is a scam!  receaved notice in the naigbourhood watch leaflet! do not phone back!!!!

Also just recieved this text - was uncertain as I'm expecting a parcel from Amazon. Was put off by the dodgy international code, and luckily found this website before I rang them!

I've just had two of these texts telling me to ring abroad. I've heard stories about people who've phoned these numbers and despite hanging up they can't disconnect from these numbers and get charged literally hundreds of pounds. I def wouldn't call!!
Or maybe we've all got parcels waiting for us today. Though I doubt it!

I have had the same message.

I stupidly called it and got a answer machine message that was really fuzzy with a woman saying i would be connected to a rep shortly.

I then got asked to put my mob number is and then it kept reading it back wrongly, so yep must be a scam!!!!

I have informed ofcom and they said they will investigate if enough people comlain they have also suggested letting service provider know.

got same message today called  and range then went thru to answer phone definitley a scam not expecting any parcels message came from Tel :07536006439

I too got the message. The telephone number that it told me (+43820990912) to ring has an Austrian country code, which made me a bit suspicious. The number it was sent from is 07536006475.

Me too. Original text from 07532 381815 (although the Austrian number it suggested I call was the same that everyone else here has reported). Txt received 1.41pm 6-Nov-08.

I always google any number that isn't in my address book and thats how i got here (for the first time ever - so at least some good has come of it). It would be nice to think that these threads were sent to oftel (or whoever) without the necessity of us each individually having to follow through on this kind of scam. Not checked the rest of the site so don't know at this stage if anything like that happens or is likely to happen. Certainly going to bookmark the site though.
