I received a text from +44 7884445671 saying " Large Parcel Awaiting Delivery. Please call now on +232 222 70680 For Delivery Tomorrow International Parcel Deliveries"  

I have no idea what they are talking about.  I have not ordered anything from abroad.  I think this is probably a scam.

I did not ring the number.  Has anyone else received anything like this?

I am not expecting any such parcel and suspect this is a scam.

i also suspect this is a scam I have heard of people ringing this number previously and it is premium rate number in Panama

I got exactly the same message and didn't phone. Received it on 23/11/2008 at 7.35.

Got exactly the same text - recieved it on 23/11/2008 and also have no idea what it's about.

Am with Orange network - am going to report it to them and try and find out who they are - firstly to report them (going to repot them to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO)www.ico.gov.uk) and secondly to then try and contact them and tell them where to go!

yup - I got it too.  I am very protective of my personal number and am miffed they have used it.  If it had gone to my son, he would have rang it not realising it is a scam.  People like these should be shut down after they have refunded all the money they have STOLEN from vulnerable people.

i am with vodafone and i have report it to them reqarding the same thing. but i have had this test message 3 time and deleted it twice and on the third time i have reported to vodafone and see who there are as i rang the mobile number which has been sent from and the scam artist has a vodafone phone.
people don't resond to this message just report it to your phone company and try and get them to find out who they are.

I got similar message - CREEPY...
It reads:
"!! URGENT!! Large parcel awaiting delivery please call now on +232 222 70680 For Delivery tomorrow International Parcel Deliveries"

I looked up country code +232 and it is apparently Sierra Leone!! When you call the number it doesn't work and the mobile goes straight to answer phone.
I will also report it to 02 - who is my provider - but this is very creeping!! THank goodness for the internet.

Yes! Received a text yesterday, stating that "the shipping information you provided is not detailed enough, we are unable to deliver to your door." They went on to provide a link for me to click and provide them with a clearer address.  Needless to say, I have NO packages coming, nor did I click the link. I blocked the number immediately. Scam written all over it!
