So, what were the details of the scam presented by this "scamer"?
"scamer" tells so little.  It this was truly a scammer, then there had to be something in their call/text that indicated what the scam was about.  You left out so many details that could be of importance to others searching this number, but all you could tell us was "scamer".

    PLEASE BE AWARE — SCAM (+44 7897 581471)

Today I met a man with white hair and a beard named Miles, together with his daughter Theresa-Louise, at Szent István krt. 13. They told me they were from Wales and that, while on vacation, they had lost their bag containing their credit cards and IDs at McDonald’s.

He asked me for cash because, without his card, he couldn't withdraw any money. He said he would send me a bank transfer in return.

I told him I only had €50. He then proceeded to make what appeared to be a £100 transfer to my bank account, supposedly in exchange for the €50 and a little extra as a thank-you (from a banking app that I now suspect was fake). He then started explaining that I would receive the money within a few hours or by the following day.

At that point, I told him I would only hand over the cash if the payment was made through an instant bank transfer, PayPal, or Satispay. I was still hoping that he was genuinely in need and that I could help. However, I wasn't willing to wait several hours or days, and I told him that if that wasn't possible, he could simply cancel the transfer.

While I was talking to him, I asked his daughter for her phone number (BTW, she got it wrong the first time).

I sent her a WhatsApp message to check the number, and she said she had no connection. I offered to turn on my hotspot so she could connect.

While opening the chat, I noticed a notification from another man from earlier that morning, around 11:30 AM, saying something along the lines of: “Hi, I'm the guy from today, could you…”

That was the moment I became completely certain this was a scam.

In the meantime, Miles told me that it was okay and that he would cancel the transaction, but claimed that doing so would cost him €35. He then asked me to give him at least €35.

I turned back to his daughter and asked to see the WhatsApp chat with me again (I just wanted an excuse to check the message I had seen).

She had deleted the message while I was talking to him and she started to be defensive saying "You want to look at my personal chats??" and he started to be rude to me saying "Man, you look even more desperate than me, you can keep the 50€, give them to your girlfriend instead" as if trying to make me look selfish.

At that point, I simply said, “Alright, nice one, I'm out,” and walked away.

We later saw them again in the same crosswalk an hour later, still trying to stop people by the street.

I'm really sorry for the guy from this morning, who seems to have been scammed. Please be careful if you encounter these people, and spread the word so others don't fall for the same trick.
