Sa me for me yesterday and today

Received a call stating that I had problems with my computer. As I am a seasoned computer tech I played along for a while before telling them to get stuffed. Hopefully no one will get taken by this scam.

Got same call here 3 days in a row by 3 different people, all had east Indian accents and stated they detected a problem with my computer. I have no problems with my computer and yes this is a scam!

I’ve been called 3 days in a row. I blocked this number yesterday. They just tried calling 5 min. ago. This Scam keeps surfacing every 6 months or so. Unfortunately there must be takers or they’d quit.

I just got a phone call from a woman swearing that she will destroy my computer and wreak my life. This is scam and someone has to stop them. I’m sick of this callers

Hi Tim from http://healthyyou.wefacts.com/wp/ we were called several times by said phone number. We traced the number to a Georgia phone number. If these jokers call you just hang up, don't talk to them. If you live in GA give the number to the police, they can handle it from that point.

new number old spam from 2 years ago.

This number called my do-not-call-in-Canada land-line a few minutes ago.
I picked-up the call, but said nothing.  About 5 seconds later, the caller hung-up on me.

Just called my work.. I said no thanks and hung up.. They tried to call back and I didn't answer...

Just got a call from this number. Didn't recognize it, so I did not answer.  If they call back I may play along...and tell them I have alerted the police.

Hi everyone. It's a good thing that we have this method of warning each other about these [***]. I was called just now and had time to make him lose HIS time. His story goes like this, ¨Mr. You have a problem with hacking on your PC. Go to your PC and open it and I'll tell you what to do. I'm a high tech from Windows.¨ He gives me a long serial no supposably for my windows PC. I never touched my PC. I said,¨Why would windows bother to help me without demanding??¨  ¨Trust me sir I will prove you when you listen to me and open your PC,¨  I said,¨ how can windows attach my phone no to my licence no without me giving them my number myself ??¨ ¨I said do you know who the HACKER is ?? ¨ Who??¨ he said, well I answered¨ you're the one.¨  ¨No no sir trust me you don't understand, just open your PC I'll show you.¨ ¨ I decided to tell him, well if you're the tech from Windows, tell me what version I'm using presently ??¨ after a moment of silence ¨ Yes I will sir,you're using WINDOWS 10."( for security reasons I didn't tell him what version I'm using.) ¨He replied that I MIGHT be using Windows 10.¨ ¨I then said well I asked you what version I WAS USING and not WHAT I MIGHT be using.¨  I replied,¨ well you're off by a mile and that makes you the HACKER, SCAMMER, and FRAUD. I'll notify the police about this phone no.¨ For some odd reason the line went dead from his end. I believe I struck a nerve in this [***].  Luckily today I had the time and patience to play his game for about 20 mins or so and made him lose a few customers. Ha ha ha. His wording and accent was so bad in English that no reputable company would hire such [***].   BTW I'm from Montreal, Prov of Quebec, Canada.

Scammers with a hindi accent. They will try to make you install remote access software so they can take control of your computer. They also collect personal information.

Good explanation of the process Daniel. This is an upgrade of them asking for money up front  to 'fix' your problem. Every call I have had in the last few years had an East Indian accent. Must be a focused group.
