I just got a call from this number and it was my friend that is in Providence hospital in portland

Caller ID: 503-215-8025 --   Junk call to an unlisted number; Early morning;  Added to reject list

Was Providence Hospital calling me to update my billing address

This number is Providence Medical's general outgoing number. It doesn't matter if your doctor's office is calling to remind you about an upcoming appointment, or if the billing department is trying to collect a past due balance, or if Grandma is calling you from her bedside phone so you know she survived her surgery, or whatever else, all outgoing calls from Providence show this number for caller ID. That's why it doesn't connect to a specific phone when you try to call it back. A lot of companies set up their phone systems this way, although most are courteous enough to have it ring back to a front desk or general reception in case of call-backs.

I know the calls I get from this number are for a past due medical bill I have with them but if they can't bother to leave a message or set up their phone system to be able to call this number back I guess they don't want my money bad enough lol

Calls after 9 pm, I've never been to Providence so I don't know why they keep calling.

Left a message to pre-register for a procedure at Providence Medical Center. Left a number to call them back. Legit.

Providence Hospital in Oregon to confirm my appointment for procedure in California.   They called on my cell and I almost didn't answer it because I don't know anyone in Oregon. I can literally see the hospital from my office window so found it very strange.

Sometimes they send your lab work from your normal doctors office to providence labs because they have more equipment to process those labs. They will call to collect the balance if your other doctors have not.

Their fax was calling our office phone number...multiple times during the day.  No way to call them back to tell them they have the wrong number.  Our number is not a fax line and there is no reason for Providence to be calling our office line.

That is probably because a family member or friend who is in the hospital wanted to chat.

hmmmm.  Responding to a post from 2012?  What's the sense of that?  I am wondering why you are here?  Not looking up a number, so maybe doing some shilling?

The number and name in your caller ID can be spoofed - faked.  There a number of billing scammers who work this way.
