The IRS website includes this link for reporting exactly this type of scam, and it took me <5 minutes to complete.

Got the same message--twice.  One, the IRS doesn't start out with a call. Two, they don't identify themselves as the "Internal Revenue Services" (plural),  Three, if they find a discrepancy, they then perform the audit (aside from a simple numerical error, for which you get a notice.  You also get notice of an audit.) Four, only the most recent three years are open to audit (with a few exceptions relating to fraud).  Five, if you have been audited and they make findings, you have an opportunity to contest and generally to request a payment plan.

We have received a cal from this number 3 times in 2 days. Each time it says they are trying to reach us and that the IRS is suing me. That's all it says with a call back #

Just got a voice mail from 509/588-7318 from an unidentified caller. When I checked the area code I thought it was from a family member, but voice mail said it was the IRS and we were being sued. So glad that others have reported that this is a scam. Very unnerving.

I received a call from this # saying I was being sued by the IRS...tried to call back multiple times busy signal.  It just continues to call my home ugg.  Not sure how to stop it!

Not only did I get the call, I got another call yesterday too. Same recorded message as today but a different number, 202-738-1834. Reeked of scam to me!

Same thing as others - three prerecorded voicemails starting at 9:45 am, 1:30pm,  and 5:30 pm. All same - being sued by IRS. Tried calling the number back from a different phone at around 2pm and it just rang and rang - never reached anyone or a voicemail box.

They have called 5 times today.  I've had this number for a decade and have never received a scam call before.  Guess I'm on their radar now.  :-(  Same experience as everyone else.  Angry "IRS" agents threatening to send authorities if I didn't settle on the phone right then.  I laughed and hung up

WA, USA This is a scam my friend paid them 400$ today they told him if you don't pay us today we gonna arrest you , he said I only have 400$ right now then they told him we will make you payments plan , now you need to go to Walgreen and get my vanilla cridet card, and he did , and then he came and visit me at work and he told me the story and I ask on my police officer and he told me is scam .

Got a recorded message that I was being sued by the IRS.

I just received a call that the IRS had been trying to get ahold of me. It was the final call and they were going to file a lawsuit against me. BS!!!

Received a voicemail informing me the IRS is filing a lawsuit against me. When I called back, it rang until our call disconnected without a voicemail greeting.

I have gotten harassing phone call scam fro I R S.

IRS scam call, two today in the space of a couple hours. Don't they know there is info everywhere on the news, the Internet that these calls are scams!  IRS would never call about taxes owed, they send a letter.  Can call to report 1-800-366-4844 at Treasury Inspector General for Tax Administration.

Oops tax office number I wrote above incorrect, it is 1-800-366-4484, NOT 4844!!!  Sorry!

Just got a phone call saying they are the IRS and they are going to sue because of owing them money. My phone number is unlisted and the number is an area code from Washington, big time scam call!
