i'm a CAL student too. received this call at night but didn't realize i had a call because my phone was on silent

I work at Cal.
I searched the directory, and found that this phone number belongs to someone who works in university relations.
Her name is Lishelle L. Blakemore.  I assume she has an autodialer left on all the time.  You can search the directory for her contact info yourself, if you have been called by this number and are reading this.

Got the call too.  Cal alum.  Perhaps got our numbers from buying season football tix?

I used to work at the Cal Calling Center about 4 years ago for the gift campaign where all the callers are current students and they call alumni and parents . If you picked up the phone and no one was on the other line it's probably because you had a newbie who was too scared to actually ask for money. The calls are run through computers where the fundraisers mark whether a call was unanswered/not available to talk (in which case the number would be put back on the current calling list); answered, but refused to give (would then be placed on the calling list for the next fiscal year/quarter I forget the delay); answered and gave donation (donation marked in your donor history and number put on the calling list for the next year/set delay).

If you want the calls to stop then you need to actually pick up the phone and tell them you want to be taken off the list. If it's a scared newbie they might just say 'okay' and set a callback for months later because in order to be taken off the list they need to hand their headset over to a supervisor. So if you want OFF THE LIST make sure they hand you off to someone else. OR you can just tell them that the alumn no longer lives at that number and you don't have their current information.

Trust me, I know how annoying these calls are from both sides. I moved to Japan after graduating and they'd still call me on my Japanese phone  every weekday around 1pm when I was in the middle of work and could never answer. Hope this helps!

I'm a Cal grad and got a call from this number.  A good geek could find the source of the robo caller.

Another Cal alum ('06) getting called regularly from this number.  Give a couple of times and they hound you mercilessly!!!

I get these also. Cal looking for donations... UCB isn't the bargain it once was... I don't answer anymore, unless I'm feeling particularly flush;-j
