No known reason that I would receive call from 512 477 0300.

Been calling Australia as well.

Just got a call from this number. The answering machine kicked in. All I got was a whole load of jibberish then the words "close to you" very clearly..These are not British Numbers so why are they allowed to call. Just because BT have a new anti call device out. Are they allowing these numbers access so we have to folk out £99 to buy one

From out of the blue I got a call today (Tuesday, January 27, 2015) from a male caller with an Indian accent advising me that I had downloaded some malicious software onto my computer over the past few days that I was unaware of.  Since I wasn't born yesterday, I immediately became suspicious and asked the caller what computer he was speaking of to which he replied "your Windows computer".  I countered saying that I haven't downloaded anything recently onto my computer but he persisted by saying that I wouldn't be aware of it (I already have had antivirus and malware software recently installed on a brand new computer).  The caller then asked me if I was near my computer and that he could help me "fix" the problem which he alluded to.  At that point, I replied that I wasn't currently using my computer. As I loathe receiving random calls, I was now totally annoyed I asked the caller if I could call him back in half-an-hour and asked for their name, their company name and a telephone number.  The caller gave their name as a David Watson, from IT Services (company name), tel. #: (860) 918-5459 which I repeated to the caller for confirmation.  Before I hung up in the background I heard another person talking giving the exact same "spiel" to some other unsuspecting person.  Upon completing the call, just to confirm my suspicions I then texted my own IT person who does ALL the work on my computer and gave him the exact same information which I'm reporting here.  He confirmed that the call I received was a fake call.  Looking at my caller ID box to ascertain the "real" telephone number and a caller name, what I saw was the name of Potbelly Sandwich at 1-512-477-0300.  I don't know what they're selling but one ought to be extremely careful about buying.  Let's face it...if a caller (who has "randomly" selected you) must represent themselves by resorting to "scare tactics" by preying upon your fears (real or imagined) in order to sell you their product (regardless of the product), I would be very leery and give them wide berth.  The other comments posted on this site seem to suggest that the callers from Potbelly Sandwich are a scam and I would tend to agree.

Called at 6:00am PST with recording about the IRS filing a lawsuit against me.

Caller ID just showed number and Austin, TX . . . when I looked it up it was for a restaurant called Potbelly in TX.  Someone is using their number to make scam calls . . . Recorded call said they were IRS trying to reach me and this is final call. Said IRS is suing me and to call back on 202-239-6021 to talk about claim against me. I didn't call back because it's all over the internet that this is a scam to get you to give information and/or transfer money to them. Be Safe!!

I am in Louisiana, got a call from potbelly, didn't answer, a recorded message saying its the irs and this is my final notice informing me I am being sued by the irs.

Next time choose a bagel or a filled roll and avoid the lawsuit.

They also call english names in France ! I get these a**wipes calling regularly with different faked numbers. They are somewhere in India and try to scam you hoping you're dumb enough to believe your PC is infected by a virus and that you will accept to download and install an app to clean it. They then have control of your pc and block it so you have to pay by PayPal or credit card to get things working again.
Please DO NOT be gullible. Just tell them to go and play with their goats and hang up.
And please don't fire back at the sandwich company or anyone else !! they are also victims of this scum who are faking their number.

I got a call this arvo.. Im in Australia! Came up on my phone as a number from Texas, don't know anyone from Texas so I didn't answer and they didn't leave a message.

Got a call from 512 477 0300 with an automated message with the speech enhanced to sound like a machine.  Said they were the IRS and I will be arrested if I don't call the number they listed that I should call.  I didn't write the number down, sorry.

Caller ID identified as Potbelly Sandwich Restaurant.  Middle eastern/Indian gentlemen identified him as calling from IRS.  Asking for payment of overdue taxes bill of $1,986.73. Then threatened to see me in court if I did not pay over the phone.   Gave me a case number of K01989.

Left me a message in a computer voice saying they had been trying to reach me & that the IRS was/has filed a lawsuit against me. SCAM.

Just received a call from this # Pot belly sandwiches:  the very official sounding message said that it was the IRS calling and that they were bringing a lawsuit against us and to return the call immediately to 202.470.0872....I did and the man that
answered was in a warehouse type building, very noisy, thick African accent.  Thanks God my Gut kicked in and I told him I was going to have to check out his business and hung up.  Very scary stuff since I also got a call in the middle of the night last night from overseas.
