- Annoyed| 1 replycalled my toll free number clicked over to a person then hung up, so I phone the number and an answering machine answers first in french then english what sounds like "Evil Canada" then says put in the extension number you want. If you listen to the whole message it takes you through a series of options as though they are a merchant account for a business and puts you on hold. Now I am in MST they are in EST and they called me at 07:30 am - I was not impressed. No one ever came on the phone.

- TheoThere's a scam going around where a company provides credit card authorization terminals with, uhm, "extra" software in them. I don't know if EVO is doing this, but it might be a good idea to research them very carefully before giving them any information. I've read accounts elsewhere that this may not be a legitimate operation.

- POdI called their corporate office number 877-355-2082 (thx to Ven). I waited out the long list of press this and that until I was auto transferred to an attendant. I asked to speak with someone in their telemarketing department. She asked... Concerning what?
I said... Your company was phoning me once a day and when I answered, no one was there. Now you have been phoning me twice a day for two weeks and there is still no one there when I answer. I want it to stop.
She took down my company name and phone number. Said she will remove my number from the list. She also apologized.
Will let you know what happens.- Caller: 1-877-355-2082 EVO

- POdSorry... I put the wrong caller number in the above post.
It shows on call display as: 1-514-315-2935- Caller: 1-514-315-2935 EVO

- POdWell I said I would let you know what happened... and here it is.
One hour after receiving the apology and a promise to remove my number from their list... I began to receive calls from 514-483-9390. I received two calls within 1.5 hours. I had never heard from them before. When I answered the phone... it was just a dial tone.
The next day... today... I received 4 calls from 514-483-9390 and 1 call from 514-315-2935
Both companies appear to be connected with merchant account telemarketing.
I sincerely hope they rot in the hot place. They have made an enemy. So much for being nice when I called the first time the freakin' knob gobblers.- Caller: 514-315-2935 EVO

EVO is a “single source” for the full range of electronic payment services. Today, there are almost 800 employees throughout Canada and the United States that are fortunate enough to be part of a revolutionary operating engine such as EVO. EVO has positioned itself for future growth in Canada with our Canadian division headquartered in Montreal, Quebec, Canada in the fall of 2009.
EVO Canada's current partners include but are not limited to the following:

Global Payments
National Bank of Canada
Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce
We send merchant processing analysts into businesses for a free, no obligation side-by-side comparison of your current processing rates, hidden back end rates, fees and hidden fees. We can show you in dollar terms, how much we can cut your businesse's processing overhead in about 15 minutes.
EVO Canada uses an autodialer to book appointments throughout Canada for our analysts. We do apologize for any inconveniences, however, we make an average of 20,000 calls per day and the number of dropped or disconnected calls is well below the CRTCs legal limit. Telemarketing is still an acceptable and legal form of business to business marketing, and does not constitute a "scam, fraud or desceptive practices", counter to the logic of some of the posters in this forum.

- Robb replies to Michaelthis is still a scam, what ever you want to call it, the person i talked to today was rude, and a real pain, i did ask several times to have my number taken off their list of calls, and was told this was the first time he, ( he as this one and only person ) has called, i asked about the other people that have called from this number and he, knew nothing about it, if i could get my hands around someones neck right about now...............it would not be to kiss them
if this number calls me again i think i just might freak, mmm, now to go to my anger management class. - Computer Company replies to Michael| 1 replyHow do I get your company to stop calling my company? You phone nearly every weekday, often more than once a day. Your staff are often rude and short not even allowing us to complete a sentence before hanging up. Quite often the line is dead upon answering. Just because what you are doing is within legal boundaries doesn't justify angering and alienating the business community. My staff are always pleasant and professional but are instructed to ask to be removed from all phone lists we don't have active partnerships with. As owner, I would NEVER support a business with such poor practices nearing harassment. If a prospective client is not interested in your business ... I would NEVER contact them DAILY just to check to see if they've changed their minds. How frustrated would that make them? Who would trust a company with this business practice? Maybe you should use spamming techniques as well? Spending my time on-line, researching how to stop your business from contacting us should be a clear sign that your business strategy is flawed. My next stop is the CRTC to file a complaint. I suggest all who read these posts to do the same. Further I'd like to add, instead of seeing the bigger picture, you actually question the logic of the "posters" of this forum that your business has been frustrating. You sir, though seemingly educated, are very dim-witted. These "Posters" you insult are the prospective clients your business continues to call (harass) ... you sir are an idiot.
- MP| 1 replyThey called me saying that they were returning a buisness inquiry call...they were very persistant in speaking with the owner and wouldn't take no for an answer.

- Guy replies to Computer CompanyI agree with much of what you are saying, it does me no favours when prospective customers have been harrased by the telemarketing side of my business. However, have you ever walked into an office in an attempt to give some information to the owner of the business just to have the "gate keeper" tell you they are not interested. I value the exchange of ideas, in this day and age we just don't like to give people a chance to explain the benefits that are on offer. We live in a very busy and competitive world, and I understand that people don't want to have their time wasted by constant phone calls....there is more to life.
- Ripped Off replies to Michael| 12 repliesAny Company that has anything to do with Northern Leasing whether it is in Canada or the U.S. Are Also Scam Artists. I am currently dealing with a scam by Conquest Financial Services in Toronto and Northern Leasing or NLS Leasing (samething) DO NOT do business with anyone that does business with Northern Leasing.
- BryanI had received numeriuoscalls from EVO Canada and actually had talked to a sales person and made an appointment for an analysis at my place of business. No one showed. I phoned EVO and was told they had no sales peopel working in my town. A few weeks later I recieved a call that they could now send someone to meet with me. I made an appointment and guess what, no one showed. I called the number. It was of course after hours as I am in the west, but eventually somone did answer, person said they were not in the offcie but took my contact information and said they would call me the next day. No call ever came, so I figured at that p[oint who would ever deal with this firm. I told my wife that night over dinner, and she said, everbody knows its a scam outfit. I still wasn't sure. The today, it is nw more than 4 months later, a call comes to one of my staff. It was not to my direct number or the main administration listed number, but to number just a few numbers diiferent form my direct line in our phone system. The caller starts asking the employee all sorts of personal questions about me, my business, the ownership structure ect. The staff persons asks the caller, who wants this information. At that point the caller hung up. The staff person then came to my office and advised me immediately. I traced back where the call came from using our call display system. The number was 877 801 9154. I called the number and it was answered by a robot as EVO Canada. Now I know this is not a nice firm to deal with. If it is a scam I am not sure how, but I caution you about their business ethics and practices.

- Another harrassment victimEvo Canada misrepresented themselves as our credit card machine company. They keep calling, hang up calls, and prank calls. They are not professionals, they are liars - they lie to be friends of the boss of the company to get access to the company. They lie that they have an appointment and impose themselves saying that they have an appointment at a certain time with the boss. They also get into the office unannounced, and are not ready to take no as an answer.
They keep calling our company. When we called many times to ask them to take us off their list - they still called.
We will call the police if they harrass us onceagain.
They said they are EVO Canada, but in most instances, they blocked their number.

- Irate Business Owner replies to MichaelYou don't just use autodialers. You also use real people who keep telling me that they will be in my neighbourhood in the next few weeks. I have told you people at least once a day that I am not interested, remove me from your call list and you have ignored. So now, I will report you to the National Do Not Call List as the number you call has been on the list for over a year!
- Mary replies to AnnoyedEvo Canada is a company full of junkies who wake up early enough from The Old Brewary Mission to drunkenly stumble to work. Almost every day a telemarketer with a strong accent (immigrant) tries to call me and set up an interview and they dont stop untill u take it............My advice is take the BS appt and give them BS info like me............I set up an appt at 830 am in the most country part of Ontario known to man and they still didnt get the hint they keep calling!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Bunch of illegal aliens working for overpaid fat [***]. One call to immigration and they get shut down permanently.
