I don't think anyone on this site is "nuts", as the Proud rep of Roussis International so professionally put it. I get a call today, from the Charlotte, NC office. Yes, I did place my resume online looking for a career, but not to be lured under false pretense of a manager trainer position, only to find out that it is a recruiting tactic for insurance sales. Why can't they just be up front about why they are calling you in the first place? That is the scam, being dishonest about why they are calling.

Was just contacted today and spoke with this guy...already forgot his name. In correction to this proud Roussis rep. I was hooked in because they falsely advertised on craigslist about an entry level accounting position just to get my info and contacted me. Shady acres and I am very disappointed at these unsavory methods.

Hey guys I have a friend that works for Roussis International and they don't have a John Lee working in the office nor have they had one since at least August.  My friend is going to be checking in with the office manager to find out who is contacting you guys.

Although, it is true that they do contact people from resumes I know many are careful about how they word the invite to the office.  If they say business briefing it will be a group overview of the business and what they are doing then a 1 on 1 interview after so that you are better armed with info but I know they have really try to crack down on people telling someone it will be an interview if it is a group meeting.  Some do 1 on 1 interviews regardless and don't invite to the group meeting so it just depends.

However, they are expanding very rapidly right now so feasibly it is hard to expand quickly without a group meeting to weed out the bad candidates.  Also, Scott Reber was mentioned above and I have been introduced to him several times.  He is actually one of their top guys in the office pretty nice guy too that is just trying to help build a business.  I think people are too quick to jump on the scam boat my friend has had a positive experience and has enjoyed helping families improve their financial situation.  But hey that is just my opinion.

they also post job opps on craigslist.com.  I replied to one of their many job posts with my resume attached and got a call from Gary at the Charlotte office within about 4 hours....I knew right then it was not legitimate.

I recd a call acouple of days ago from Steve Gomez and he wanted me to attend a group meeting, And I requested for him to send me a e-mail with the details.

I have 33 yrs of Brokerage and Banking experience and Steve claimed that they were starting up a Brokerage operations on Long Island and needed for me to assist them. I felt this was a great opportunity since I'm out of work four (4) months.....

In the details Steve mentioned that he works for Roussis Int'l with is affilated with PRIMERICA. So I wrote back to him and said "If this is a SCAM don't waste my time.....I'M LOOKING FOR A REAL JOB....

And Steve wrote the below commits to me.............

"I understand your concerns. We all have those concerns when looking at any business. But when I visited with the senior partners, here's what I found out:

We're proudly affiliated with Primerica and Citigroup.

Primerica is a Citi company with over 100,000 reps worldwide that generates between $300 -$500 Million in profits annually. Here are just a few of the highlights:

    Together we're a
    a Fortune 500 company
    listed on the NYSE
One of the Dow Jones Industrial Averages
and have a cumulated net worth of $2.2 Trillion Globally
a juggernaut in the financial services industry
    Respected by every regulatory agency
Listed and recommended in several trade newspapers and journals
Licensed by the financial regulatory departments of the states in which we work
Respected by key and prominent figures in the financial industry

More importantly, we need to meet with you to determine your level of credibility.

Tonight's meeting is just to get to know you in person. But before we decide to move forward and invite you to become a part of our business and represent us we will require a background check, to make sure you are who you say you are.

We have a very successful business to protect and grow.

If you're just looking for another 9-5 job, then you will not like our business and we can part as friends.

But, if as you expressed on the phone, the idea of learning more about our industry, expanding a well established and respected firm in the financial services industry and eventually assisting us in running one or more agencies here in the NY/ Long Island area then we'd like to get to meet you to determine if your a match.

So if this idea is appealing to you and you're willing to go back and do some more research before and after meeting with us, then I recommend that we keep our appointment for this evening where we will be covering all of the key and relevant details of our expansion plans and how that will generate an opportunity for you.

    Kind Regards,
    Steve Gomez

I just received an email from Scott Reber.  They definitely must be reading these comments because their email solicitation has improved dramatically.  Basically, in the email they spell out who they are, what they do, and what they're lookiing for.  They even accurately explain what the group meeting is for and so forth. I'm fairly certain that if you were to sell what they're selling, you'd get paid.  That's pretty much what a job is, right?

Received a call from Jiann Lee today.  He clearly expressed the he reviewed my resume I had posted on a job board and asked if I might be interested in a training and management position.  I Googled Roussis Intl and found these posts as well as their web site which is pretty bare.  I also checked with the BBB and state liscensing board and found nothing negative.  I did a fact check on what the business offers and business week said it was real.

People are interested Jon Lee, just not interested in the BS you are pushing. They post their resume for a job, not as bait. Get a life and get a real job ya leach.

I received the same call. He said he received my resume and that his company needs individuals with excellent people skills who are prepared to grow a business. He wouldn't answer me directly when I asked whether it was salary, performance or commission based or a combination thereof. He said it sounded as if I'm not open to new opportunities and to fulfilling my potential.
I pushed him for more information about the company for which he works and he provided this website: http://www.teamrtime.com/. What would have happened had I agree to an interview during our telephone conversation?!

If taking advice from strangers is stupid, then I suppose we should take what you say with a grain of salt. I think this must certainly be a scam--a representative of a reputable company shouldn't need to resort to name calling.

I was contacted by this same company.  I too went on the interview. Prior to doing so, I also did some research online and found some things written about the company that portrayed it as a scam.  I decided to go and check it our anyway becuase as we all know, the internet is hardly a reliable source for credible information.  What I found was it is an opportunity for someone with no financial backround to learn finances through getting state licenses to sell Life insur, securites and mortgages.  If someone can pass those tests, I would have to think you would have some knowledge in those fields.  They also train you on how to do it.  Don't most other financial companies do the same thing?  Allow people to start, maybe out of college, who may not have a financial degree to get started.  I know my advisor from AXA (big name company) did not have a finance degree, but learned what he needed to through his company.  This seems to me, like a legitimate course to own your own business without having to come up with capital.  If someone calls you to try and hire you into the company, how is that a scam.  I think the term "Scam" is thrown around too easily.  Listen this business is not for me, as I'm sure it's not for many people, especially people who like to work hard.  I found no evidence of Scam, In fact I found Primerica rated A+ with the BBB.

Steve, it is a scam because the emails and calls we are receiving from Roussis International do not state that they are recruiting for insurance salespeople or to "teach" us how to grow our own business. We are posting resumes on job boards and looking for jobs in our specified fields. If Roussis introduced themselves initially as a type of training program many people might indeed feel it is worthwhile and an opportunity to learn despite not having a finance background. The rest of us, however, are not looking for training, we're looking for a job and being up front would save us all time.
