Caller claims something wrong with my computer, my system is compromised and he is a Windows tech and wants to fix it.

says he's a windows tech and wants to fix my computer. won't give company name. scam.

This guy called about my windows computer. My co-worker and I put him on speaker because we are the IT Dept for our company. After about 5 mins this guy was very frustrated, called me an idiot and hung up. We both had a great laugh

Had a fellow call me from 518-246-6436 claiming to be a windows technician, then called this afternoon.. to say my laptop was sending messages -security issues out to their main computer.  He obviously wants to fix it at a cost.  I pulled up the eventvwr window and clicked where he told me too , and I had nothing on my screen Except he kept telling me to wait, wait there will be something there.  I immediately told him not to call back again, he was very rude. And I think this was a scam he did tell me as well that if this wasn't true he would give me $5000.00

Female with very thick accent called 4:30pm to tell me there was something wrong with my computer and they were getting messages about it. Asked her to clarify exactly what she needed and she couldn't. Did not say a company name either. I had just bought a new computer I have not even registered yet so first thought it was about my new computer since the place I bought it had my phone number.
The accent was so strong that there is no way anyone would hire her to do any tech phone stuff. I asked her again exactly what she needed from me and when she couldn't come up with anything other than the beginning of her script. I asked her if it was a scam. Of course she said this was not a scam. Then I said that she is not making any sense since my computer would not notify anyone there if there was a problem. She agreed that it didn't make sense and hung up.
I really wish there was something we could do about scammers because too many people still fall for this crap!
