This company has been calling me at work and harassing me...They are telling me they are with an investigation unit and they will arrest me from my job. They are in violation of many FDCPA laws....

These people are calling my home, work and cell phone.  I dont know how they got my cell phone.  They are threatning to call my boss, so I can loose my job.  I am sick of these people, they are ruthless.  I know by law they have to send something in writing and all they do is threaten with harsh words, so unprofessional.  They sound like scam artists.

I was contacted by this guy today by the name of Ricky Johnson stating that I was being taken to court over some loans that I have received and that I would have to pay $300.00 in order to keep from going to jail and being arrested on my job. When I asked what company he was from he hesitated and couldn't give me the name of the company that was sueing me.

I get calls all the time from these ppl using different numbers. Same tone. Its all illegal. If you go to the Federal Trade Commision on the laws regarding how people contact you with a debt issue you will see that everything these men say is illegal. NEVER GIVE OUT ANY INFORMATION OVER THE PHONE. Ask them to provide you with the legal papers against you before you give them anything. If you have legal action against you...there will be legal papers aka court documents. They are suppose to give those to you in a timely manner. They are not suppose to tell your boss any of your personal information...privacy act HELLO! They are not suppose to threaten you. I am not sure how they are getting the last four digits of our ssn that is very disturbing. Very evil people they are!!!!

I filed a complaint yesterday. They have so many numbers and change them all the time not sure if anything can be done but its a start.

Receiving threatenening calls from a man stating that he is an officer and has a file on me

I received 3 phone calls from a person called "Officer Mike Johnson" saying he worked for the "National Bureau of Criminal Investigation" warning me I had a "Federal Bank Fraud Warrant in my name from New York". He wanted me to pay $300 to keep my "good name and good credit". I told him I didn't recall any loans out for that amount and that I would not send him any money and hung up. He called and my wife answered it. He told her he would contact our local authorities to pick me up on the warrant if I did not call him back at the (518) 649-8090. We did not call back instead we reported it to our Police Dept. and they told me I did 2 smart things.... (1) I hung up (2) told them about it. The 3rd time he called saying he was "Officer John Wright" (doesn't even know what his own name is) he left a message threatening to "block my Social Security #" if I didn't call him back. I just laughed at the message.

i have gotten calls like this for quite some time. they didnt start until i tried to get a loan online. i found out though, that the type of bank i use is not an approved bank. its just an online bank. i only found this out by calling one of the loan providers directly. getting someone with a strong indian accent walking me though how to enter all the info correctly. at the end is when he said that my bank is not an official bank. which its technically not. its just an online bank from Metabank. but he told me that because of this, i am denied on the application. now i did enter my work number on my application as just my google talk number. since then, i get calls from numbers all over the country calling my cell and google talk number saying that i owe for a loan which i was denied for. i had one tell me that i was going to have to go to the state of Florida and have to fight with the state. i have only lived in texas and arizona. each time they call, i never answer. so all my voicemails i get all say that this is my final warning and if i dont call them back, then they will have police come to my home and arrest me. this started about 14 months ago. the only reason they have gone so long is i never understood why i was denied a loan until i called about 2 months ago. so i have filled out quite a few loan applications. they do eventually stop calling. but in my case, it starts up again with a new number every month.

I had gotten a call from this number and he said his name was Mike Johnson from state investigations. He said that if I did not call him back that leagal action would be taken. So I called the number and thought, wow htis does not sound right. I called local law enforcement and they told me this was a scam. First of all, he cannot issue a warrant for any arrest a judge has to, so that's the first thing that told me it didn't sound right. I hope this helps anyone who gets the same call.

I too have been recieving phone calls from officer daniel jones with all sorts of threats , i just send him straight to voice mail. i work for the state and looked up this state investigations department, which has nothing to do with what he is calling about. How do you stop these calls? because he is calling my cell and work number.

i received this call on my cell phone twice then they called my job phone and said they were going to arrest me and had all my information from account number routing number social, home address everything. told them i would be contacting my police department and they hung up on me.

Hi thank God for U Guys. I got a call from a John write saying  my son was in trouble
    that he had a warrent out for him etc  etc  He claimed he was a state Patrol officer

           I surely Hope this matter is dealt with.  In NEBR its against THE LAW TO IMPERSONATE
           A OFFICER OF THE LAW.

My friend just got a call from that5186498090. I called back and played thier game said that i wanted his badge number lied about my name and they put officer thomas on the phone. he said as soon as my freind paid he would give the badge number. so I asked how is it that a officer is at a collection agency to collect. he would not give information. I knew was a scam from the get go. Everyone call the local police and let them no. But realize anything you type online nowadays is all being watched by someone somewhere. that is how they get your info. everyone keep going back at them. ask a ton of questions they cant answer it confuses them. these people suck.

This is crazy.. Indian accent who says his name is Harold Lee from State Investigation of Portland Texas. I owe on a pay day loan from cash net usa. Never heard of them. This is the third call that I have actually answered. They are so aggressive and very threatening. I have asked for documentation numerous times. He recited my entire identity. Phone, ssn, DL #, bank. This is sooo scary and I am thankful that others have shared. This is definitely fraud. I am not sure how they received all of my information unless they have hacked or breached another company. I am contacting the authorities in the morning.

Has anyone ever had anything filed against them by these people?

Everyone going through this should definitely file a complaint. This needs to be stopped.

I recieved a message from a guy with an indian accent stating that he was calling from the state department of investigations . he said his name was jeffery . i called the # he gave me 1786-3786661 he said the last 4 # s of my social secuirity # and said my social # will be black listed if i dont call back . [***] this guy he needs to get arrested asap

this guy keeps calling my # and saying there is a case open on me and i need to call him back what a looser

this guy called me from 1786-3786661 indian accent threating me on my answering machine . this guy said my social # and said i had better call back or a case will be filed with the courts [***] this guy says hes from the office of state investigations dept of patrick bell

These people are a joke! I have received numerous calls from different phone numbers and similiar "indian accents". Once you let them know  you are aware they are fraudulant, they start to leave you alone. About three weeks ago, I did have  voicemail on my cell that was similar to the previous calls, but nothing since then. Somehow, they had gotten ahold of my work phone and were continuously harrassing me and my co-workers. Hope they catch this entire team of people and put them away for a long time!!

I too continue receiving calls from Peter Black.  Like you he threatens to arrest me and I put a block on the phone now another number comes up,  he too has my social and that worries me as well.  I too live in Texas.  Why can,t authorities arrest this idiot. I told them to go ahead and arrest that the police would be waiting for him.  Still uses other numbers to harass.
