I too just received a call.. Tired of this [***] and can't understan why the Government doesn't stop it unless it is a registered Charity.

OH please help!!  They have my cell number now!!! I don't answer long distance numbers on my cell!!  I just want them to stop!!!!!  I have tried to call the number back but I also get "this number is not longer in service".  I get so frustrated . . . .

I received a call from this number today. No message left. I'm wondering if they are a service that calls to find out when people are home so telemarketers can know when to call.

They have been pestering us daily now for weeks.

I tried to file a complaint with the do not call registry but they would not accept my area code (250)
I googled it and found the website has refused certain area codes for years now.

So the "Do Not Call Registry" has effectively blocked taxpayers from bothering them!  

...as we continue with taxes to pay for the website and "Service" and continue to be pestered daily!

The # appears to belong to Bell Canada.  I just spoke with them and they advised that they have no record of that #.  An earlier comment mentions the call possibly originating in Florida.  This is in fact possible.  It was further explained that the calls were most likely made using VOIP and not the traditional DTMF Land Line system.  If this is the case, they can have their outbound calls display whatever number they want on your caller ID.  I was also advised to call the security dept. and speak to an investigator who has the resources to trace the origin of that call even though the scammers are not Bell customers.  It's a matter of them using the Bell exchange under false pretenses such as caller ID spoofing.  If I hear more after speaking to an investigator I will update this post for you all.

persistent. calls twice a day...at meal times.

does not answer when phone is picked up or leave messages. I am in Nova Scotia

called here about 5 minutes ago. I did answer it as I have relatives in the 519 exchange and I have been working on something with him over email so thought it might be him. Was a prerecorded message for credit debt. I hit the 0 repeatedly and it seemed to have killed the line so I hung up.

I'm also in Nova Scotia on Eastlink. I used the *60 option to block them from calling again.

Got a call from 1-519-285-4356 twice a day every day for 2 weeks now. no messages, only air.Who in the heck are they?

reported to CRTC. not holding out much hope to get this crap stopped.Been ongoing for months.

On June 11, 2011  at 11:10 A.M. MDT, I received a recorded announcement from Card Member Services. A woman said this was the last curtesy call that I would get and that I could lower my credit card interest to 6%. Unless I responded, my file would be closed. I was told to press 1 to reach one of their "friendly" service personell. This sounds like many other calls I've received about lowering my credit card interest rate. I was away from home so the recording went silent and then hung up after 10 seconds. Now I can delete the message from my answering machine.
