It’a sounds like a fake setup. Who has a voicemail setup like this? Not a single one of my many, many friends in law enforcement.
This guy is pulling some scam I’m certain. Don’t trust a strange call, get a name, call the department main phone number back and see if same person responds.
It’s a scam folks. Don’t fall for trucks this simple. It’s social engineering. You’ve been trained to respond a certain way- so don’t do it and throw the scammers off their game.

They asked me to confirm my daughters and sisters name as well as my mothers last name and date of birth

Called back after they called 4 times repeatedly. Got their voicemail asking if I wanted an officer to call me back then press 1. Don’t know who it is but they didn’t leave a vm for me.
