I missed the call, but the message it recorded said press 1 to decline a charge on my account for an Apple I-phone. Since the message stated as soon as I'm answered, it didn't record the first part of the message stating who the caller was. When I called the number back, it was answered by Amazon customer service.

That was probably not Amazon you called. You can look up the number for Amazon Customer service and call them to double check if they have been trying to reach you. You can also check your credit/debit card account to see if any charge was made or attempted.

This is a common Refund type scam. Sometimes they are phishing for financial/banking/CC info. Other times they want you go online and then they will try to get on your computer with you to issue a "refund".  Things go very bad from there. Don't connect any strangers to you computer.

Since you talked to them, they will keep trying to scam you. Be very careful about calls from unknown numbers or numbers with vague caller ID info.
