The caller ID read: CORDOVA AL. It was a robocall that started with a long pause, then music played on the other end as if I was on hold. Then the bot read this script, "Payment of $1920 for a galaxy... phone purchase. If you did not authorize, press 1 to speak to customer support representative." I pressed nothing as should everyone and the call disconnected shortly after. This call is likely a phishing scam designed to steal your personal or financial information. Scam Indicators... Fake Urgency: High dollar amounts ($1,920) are used to scare you into reacting quickly. Robocall Format: Legitimate fraud departments rarely use automated scripts to authorize high-value purchases. Press 1 Tactic: Pressing buttons routes you to a live scammer who will attempt to collect your credit card numbers, passwords, or bank details.
