This is a "legal scam". The callers are brokers for thirds party electric companies. They will ask you to read off some numbers on your electric bill. DO NOT DO THIS. They will take it upon themselves to cancel your current service and switch your provider to some P.O.S. provider who will be hard to get ahold of when things go wrong and who will increase your rates after a year. It is a scam, but not illegal. They are rude, unprofessional and condescending. DO NOT BELIEVE A WORD THEY SAY. They get paid commission and do everything they possibly can to make that money. I even had one pretend that they were PPL.

Because they want to trick you into reading off your electric bill to them so they can switch your provider. They can't do that if they don't speak with you. PS: DON'T DO IT

Wanted our electric bill information. Wanted to look at our bills.

They will also try to convince you that they are already providing your service and that they are hired by ComEd (Illinois).  Don't fall for this either.

Just got a call from this number.  The lady wanted to talk to the person that "handles the Ameren account."  I immediately became suspicious, especially when she wanted to know our account number.  She was very pushy.  She claimed that if I didn't give her the information, we may be faced with a tremendous rate increase.  I hung up on her.  She called back.  Hung up on her again.  At that point, I did a search of this phone number and found out my suspicions were correct.

They called to discuss my electric account.  And stressed it is very important that I call them back today.  Yeah, I will get right on that.  Not.

Will harrass on calling you. Multiple times they won't stop even if you turn them down many times. Said they are from a company called "Ally" and is somehow connected to National Grid, will have the same script "this is not one of those calls we are not soliciting" and it's about them helping you not to get the rate increase they would need your account number. NEVER GIVE THEM THAT. According to National Grid they will never ask for that cause they're supposed to have that already. They don't even know the name of the right person that they're calling or the name under the account. Unprofessional and condescending.

OK Few weeks ago I got a call on our company National Grid Bill, same lady called 2 times first time I answered said they were with some company called Allied, then called back from another number the next day spoofed go figure? from Pennsylvania. Now with that said the first call tried everything in their power to get us to get a copy of our bill and go over rates. Now business rates are lower than residential so I knew something didn't add up. And using 2 different names and multiple phone numbers is a problem. On the business lines we have Spam Blocking that requires them to manually enter a code to connect so we are able to trace the numbers. People Beware who you give your information and account  info to... Also we never gave National Grid authorization to share our information so maybe this should be looked in to also.
