I got a call said is thompson management,debt collector

Got a call at 5:30 am, guy asking for someone we don't know but has same last name. got into verbal confrontation with us- hung up on them and they called back to taunt us. JERKS!

The Do Not Call List does not apply  to debt collections

If anyone wants a little education on what debt collectors can and can not do visit my blog @ http://kerrymaxwell.blogspot.com/ and starting 2/19/2011 I will start posting information on this specific issue. I have been a debt collector for almost 8 years, so I can and WILL help you in getting those calls to stop. I will  also go into detail as to what they can and I can not say. All I ask in return is for a little bit of traffic to my blog. If you don't believe anything I post, google the FDCPA and you will see I am indeed trying to help you. I will make my first post regarding this issue later on today sometime, it's 5am and I've been up all night. Why would I do this you ask? I believe everybody should be treated fairly, and debt collectors that are rude and ignorant make it hard for collectors like myself to make an honest, decent living.

My name is Denise and I paid Oxford Management over $1,200 to settle a debt for GMAC well Oxford did forward the settlement payment to GMAC but never sent me or GMAC a letter stating that the account was paid or settled. However, GMAC is now asking that I pay the full amount even though they cashed the checks their saying that the account was never settled. I do have proof that the account was paid but no letter, is there anything I can do? Oxford management closed its operations 2 months ago...
