I too received a phone message, labeled from Vienna VA. The message said that I was being sought for tax evasion and that a warrant was being issued for my arrest. The caller had an accent. This is clearly a scam. I am disturbed that this scam is occurring. I am contacting the Treasury Dept Help Line.  

I got a call from 571-418-8467, saying that they were with the IRS and that my taxes had been audited and the found that I filed my taxes knowing that I committed fraud. An arrest warrant would be issued for my arrest and that my house and car would be confiscated and my bank accounts would be frozen. After telling them that I would take care of it right away he put me on with another person who wanted me to go to the bank right away and to keep him on speaker phone while I was going to the bank and that he would walk me through the procedure to send them money. At that point I got a SCAM feeling in my stomach and I told him this he said fine then we'll issue an arrest warrant for your arrest right now. Wow was I glad that I got that feeling......

I just received a call from this number from an Officer Marcus.  He said the same thing as the above comments.  I knew right away that it was a scam because I've paid my taxes.    What agency is the one to contact to report something like this?

I am on the phone with the  right now and I'm all shaken up. They want me to get cash and pay at CVS. They said that they will send the sheriff for my arrest.

This is some sort of scam. the taxation agencies do not call you. They send written notices. They never call like that. It is a foreign entity that does not understand the IRS process well enough to make a convincing scam. Unfortuantely, some people get scared and give money. This is a shame. Ignore it. Don't waste your time. There is a new scam out every day. Be carefull not to fall for one.

Just called this number after getting two messages that I had committed tax fraud. I've called several times, trying different things. One time, they asked what number I was calling from (WHAT!?!?!). I told him he could get it off his caller ID; said he didn't have caller ID. So I told him the number, and he called me LIAR about 50 times. Tried to tell him he was the liar for posing as IRS. Another time, I let it go quite far, and they "recorded" me. I played along until he said he was going to transfer me to his superior. I asked him why I never received anything in the mail, etc. He told me they tried to hand deliver the information to my house, but since it was such sensitive information, and you know, you don't want any fraud going on, they were unable to deliver it. Finally told him to send the docs again and I'd stay home till I got them, but that I had a suspicion it wasn't real so I was going to investigate. Oh... these people. I TRULY hope nobody's falling for this.

Report to IRS at this website http://www.treasury.gov/tigta/contact_report_scam.shtml or 1-800-366-4484. I just called the number again and told the guy I was contacting the Treasury Department to report them for fraud. He said "F*** you". Ha!

Just got a similar message from Marcus via my voicemail, pretty sure it was a scam.

I received a call from 571-418-8467 on my answering machine.  A warrant was issued for my arrest on tax fraud. The person identified himself as Officer Marcus.  He said for more info to call back. I did not return the call. What the heck is going on???

Got the same phone call from someone with an India accent threatening me with a warrant for my arrest. We do not owe anything to the IRS. Please be aware the IRS will never call us that is not how they do their business. Googled the number and found it was a scam. Never respond to these types if harassing messages!

I got the same message twice in one day.  Indian sounding guy with threating IRS payment needed and a warrant for my arrest being processed in Federal Court.

Id like to get my hands on this guy......
