If Chase did this they should be put in prison. I will fight this until my dying day. My husband has lost his job, and we are juggling our accounts. We had just made a deposit in my checking account when chase took out two payments to pay a credit card of ours we have never been late on to pay themselves. If anyone can read this, please help us stand against this fraudulent Chase Bank activity.

I BELIEVE THIS IS AN ELECTRONIC PAYMENT TOWARDS THE BALANCE OF YOUR CREDIT CARD (THAT YOU AUTHORIZED).

    Answer
It is most likely just an electronic payment from one of your credit cards which you would have had to authorize. If you check your credit card activity, you'll probably find an equivalent amount in the negative. If you don't then you probably want to call Chase to find out what it's all about. I was scratching my head on this one for a while before I figured it out.

@Gene the $10/month is a new thing Chase does with checking accounts that maintain a monthly balance less than $500 unless you have a monthly direct deposit set up for that account. It sucks for those of us who originally signed up with WaMu's free checking, but I just have my paycheck deposited there every month so it's a non-issue for me. Not sure what the $25 is for.

My CHASE checking account shows a ACH DEBIT of $97.73 on 10/13 with the web ID. 5760039224, I do not know who this is, never heard of them and sure as H*** did not authorize this charge. From everything I can find on the internet THIS IS A TOTAL RIP-OFF BY CHASE BANK AND THEY REFUSE TO ACKNOWLEDGE IT..

It happened to me and I called Chase. He said when you see EPAY, usually it is Chase Credit Card Payment or some type of Loan. Later I found out one of my house member used a wrong account to pay a monthly credit card payment. When credit card account is created, this person must gave the bank a regular Chase bank account as a protection.

Agree with DylanC and danny, although it took awhile to figure out the number on my bank statement. It is Chase ePay which by definition means authorized by the account holder. It means you are paying down debt. It does not mean you are being robbed. Not trying to defend the bank but tryng to help others not embarrass themselves by complaining as I nearly did.

Confirmed: this number, as reflected in my account history, is a payment towards my credit cards that I authorized.  Chase could avoid a lot of headaches by simply stating as much in their account histories.  The amounts match exactly the amounts that I authorized at the dates stated to be transfered as payments against my credit card balances.  Unless this is the result of a phishing scam, these are legit charges.

This is Fraud!!! My savings account had a charge debited from it to pay CHASE Epay 5760039224. I don't own ANY chase accounts, nor do I know the person's name that was associated to this charge. I didn't even know a debit charge could be taken from a savings account. Furthermore, Chase was unable to help me because I don't have an account, but that sure as heck didn't stop them from taking money from me. Luckily I was able to put a stop to it, and inconvenietly freeze my account for 45 days. Hopefully this doesn't happene again. Chase needs to get caught up to their technology and handle business better than this!

How can you have money taken from a non-existent account? How is it you had money taken from a Savings account by Chase and then claim to not have any accounts with Chase? Furthermore, how can you freeze an account you claim to not have? You're [***], that's why you're so confused. :)
