Company called Volt Delta from Rochester NY, called and said it was doing a test.

Who are they and why are they doing this?

“Hello, this is Volt Delta in Rochester, New York. This is a test call on behalf of directory assistance as an ongoing audit of our listings. This is not a solicitation call no further action is required by you. If you do not wish to be called by the service again please call 5853624105. Hello, this is Volt Delta in Rochester, New York. This is a test call on behalf of directory assistance as an ongoing audit of our listings. This is not a solicitation call no further action is required by you. If you do not wish to be called by the service again please call 5853624105.”

They said 5853624104 but the voicemail transcription and the Caller-ID said 5853624105.

Stop calling my business phone! I won't answer but you waste my valuable time.

We get probably at least 6 scam calls a day, and block as many as possible (before we started blocking calls, we were getting around 10-12 scam calls a day).  The scam calls usually ring through between 11:00 am and 2:00pm.  We were due for our first scam call of today, when this call came through.  The recorded message sounds like a pack of lies, and seems like just another new scam added into the mix of the usual scam calls (credit card, car warranty, carpet cleaning, senior alarm systems, debt "collection", bogus cruise winnings, fake charity calls ...etc).   Have found, that you can NEVER ever EVER opt out on these types of calls.  If you answer your phone, or call back ANY number listed by the scam callers, you are signing up for an infinite number of nuisance calls in the future.  

585 362-4105 called, and left number to call 585 362 4104. They are collecting our Deta.

why are these people calling me,I got the same message some of the other people said they are verifying my number. Why?

Got the stupid message 081414 at 230 pm PDT saying verifying phone number and press one.  Absolutely not.  These phone numbers out of New York are usually overseas scam rotating type crooks.  Report number to DNC and in a month they will have changed the number again so they can avoid being caught.  But -- report anyway!
