Call was made on May 5 saying they were from the IRS . I should return call or have my lawer return call.

I got the call on 5/4/2014, a women name Heather Grey left a message that I need to call back, when I did, a man was reading all the citations to me and told me not to interrupt until he finished and he will answer all my questions and when I told him I don't understand, and gave the phone to my husband, he said we owe over $21,000 from 2008 to 2012, the police will arrest us in an hour and seize all my procession so on and so on, my husband just say OK...and then he hung up.

I got the same message from Heather Gray, claiming from IRS with phone number 585-444-6953. It is definitely a scam to have you call back. I reported it to Do not call list.

I got the message from Herrera Grey claiming it'seems extremely urgent issues at IRS.

I am not sure its validity and doubt if IRS calls on Sunday leaving automated voice message.  Is this new scam?

Got the same message. Called back, to hear heavy accent-guy telling me In 30min I will be arrested for tax-related issues and that I owe some thousands of dollars to IRS. I asked what his name was - he said Kevin Brown. I asked if he is from India, he said, yes. I said how come you have an American name? Then I asked for address, he said 2068 E Rd Rochester City and that is where investigation IRS Dept is.  I figured it is a scam and told him why is he calling - he said to inform me.
He did not ask for any payments.

That do they get out of this????

Got a call about a hour ago stating they were calling from the IRS, telling me that I owe 4998.32 and the cops are on the way to arrest me in about 30 mins. and its going to cost me 21,000.00 to get out of jail. waiting....waiting...OH PLEASE. Since when did the sherriffs office give notice of a surpise arrest. They should at least send their help to learn how to speak better before they start to SCAM! Reported this to IRS @ 1-800-366-4484. Anyone else that gets one of these PLEASE call IRS and report these low life creeps (1-800-366-4484)

I got the same exact message today! I called back andit was a general vmbox...how do these people get our info? How do we stop it?

I got the same call with a 415 number...

These scumbags keep calling me telling me they are IRS.
I have tried to ignore them but they keep calling every week.

I have reported this to Police, and why are they not caught and punished?
They seem to be doing this with impunity.
I cannot believe this is happening after everybody reporting them.

Same here, they called me twice. I can't belive that I almost paid them on their first try last week.   I'm at the point of negotiating for a payment plan because according to them, I owe $3879.00 back taxes. The Indian accent guy connected me to somebody else, like "finance department", and he agreed that they won't call the cops on me if I pay them at least $900.  I haggled with $200, and he said he can't accept 200 bucks.  So I asked him one question, if he can verify at least the last 4 of my Social Security number or my date of birth or mailing address, he can't verify it and he even got upset, asking me if I"m questioning him.  He said, "goodluck, you are going to jail in an hour".  I immediately filed a police report and then I learned that it was a scam.

Received a voice mail from a female caller from this number.  The message was spotty and sounded like it was recorded under water.  Was only able to pick up a few words, i.e. time sensitive, please return call, taking legal action against you.  Will be filing a complaint with the FTC.

Received call 8:32 am today, 5-19-2014 - same requests as in above complaints - to call this number 585-444-6953, from Hannah Gray.  IRS does not call people - I know that, they would send a notice telling you exactly what year taxes were due from and how much.  This is definitely a SCAM.  Would not even bother to call this number back!

Got same call this am as message...time sensitive & must reply don't ignore. Shem called back very HEAVY INDIAN ACCENT! Asked about amount owed & said Federal Agents coming to arrest me today! Told them my dobermans would greet them at the gate! Total scam! I actually called back to tell them I wanted to resolve & put me through to a restitution officer  Julian Marshall (even gave badge # 1096678)! He was very loud and told me I needed to answer all questions starting with have I been arrested for fraud or criminal activities in past....

Message said, "Issue is time sensitive. I am Officer Heather Grey with the Internal Revenue Service. Do not ignore this call. Contact me at the following division and phone number 585-444-6952. Do this immediately before we have to take any legal allegation against you".

Scammer, claiming to IRS; terrible accent. 2-calls so far.

I received call from #585-444-6953. they said they from IRS. but this is scam. do not trust these kinds jerks,crocks,[***].
do not answer any kind #' that you don't know. before you answer check there numbers in computer about there complaint.
do not give any money to this kinds [***].   JUST CALL TO IRS PHONE # 1-800-366-4484. MAKE A REPORT TO IRS.

received the call... hung up and called them back with the number listed in caller ID....an Indian (or middle eastern accent) answered and asked for the phone number i was calling from...then he proceeded to tell me an affidavit was mailed and no one was at home to accept it, therefore was returned to them... it referenced 5 tax years and i was in arrears....i questioned him the whole time feeling it was a scam, but the official nature of the statements and questions still had me thinking...he then proceeded to tell me my payment option had expired and i would be visited shortly by the local sherif and arrested with all of my assets seized for 5 years...i got my attorney on the other line and and asked him to please repeat what he just said to my attorney and he hung up..
