I too just received the same call this morning from 585 697 3455. I was asked  to call Mark Anderson with the IRS @ 585-697-3455 regarding a serious  issue with last years taxes.  I told them that I would wait for a letter from the IRS and would not talk ti them and then hung up on them.

More people are becoming alert, but some may actually fall for it. I saw a news on ABC some time ago where someone actually lost $16k.  Be careful.

This morning john smith call to my store state that he is from investigation revenue services to call back office, later i tred call back many times but couldnt reach there.

Received a call from this no. pretending to be John William of IRS and claiming we owed over $5000 in Back taxes from past 10 years and wanted to settle for an advance payment of $1000 in order to hold off criminal proceedings.  John's accent was Indian or Asian.  We filed jointly but he did not know this, a give away of his fraud.   When I asked to establish his identity, he got belligerent and threatened that cops will come to arrest and cease our property in an hour!  I said go ahead and hung up on him,

I just received the same call from this number by (mark Anderson), but the cop in me made me investigate and ask questions of the caller.  He did not want to stay on the line long and spoke with an accent, stating I would need to contact Mark Victor at Ext 142 at the same number.  I'd like to find these people behind this scam and have them arrested.  Don't provide them with any confidential information, as they most likely are up to identity theft.

I also received same call 6:30 am today and.  8am yesterday asking me to call Mark Anderson x2254

I just got a call same as described above, a lawyer from IRS and I need to call back at the same number. Very urgent. Lawyer is Mark Anderson. Caller has thick Indian or Asian accent. I said remove my name and number from your calling list and hung up on him. He called me right back!! Argh! He kept repeating the issue when I said the IRS does not call on the phone for issues like this. He also said that there was a bad connection, it was hard to hear me,  and maybe I was having a hard time explaining myself to him, he could not understand. Ok, that's when I got irritated! It's a scam! I have a very common foreign last name.

Recived a call early this morning that I could tell was from a scammer. So I hung up on him. He called me back multiple times! Hung up on my voice mail pick up twice then left a threatening voicemail of needing to call this out of state number for the IRS (obviously a scamming red flag) "before legal actions take place" because of "tax return discrepancy". Reporting this the local authorities.  I know this is a scam - but he is very aggressive & alot of people could be hurt by him. Watch Out!

CALL FROM IRS..... POOR ENGLISH AND I THINK ITS AUTOMATIC ANSWERING SYSTEM. SOME BEEP SOUND.....

They claimed themselves is enforcer of the IRS.  First they have one person with Idian accent to ask you to call the 585-697-3455 about the taxes owed.  Then When I called that number the Jerk named Mark Victor claimed that he is the enforcer for the IRS and will bring me to court proceeding in 2 hours, and they will sent police to serve me the paper and arrest me in two hours.  They said I did not replied on the certified mail and they audit me back to 2009 and I am filing my taxes fraud in three counts.  I told him I got the tax back every year.  I ask him how much I owe, then he said that I owe 3898.  I told him that I can pay that amount of money, and it is not necessary to arrest me now.  I don't want to be arrested.  I told him I want to talk to his supervisor, then he even ask me whether I got arrested before to give me second chance.  He put me on hold then i got to my computer and google the phone number and found out it is a scam since I read the post hear.  Thank you for posting the scam number.  I did called the local police and the IRS and verifying it is a scam.  I call the number back and talked to the jerk Mark Victor.  He still threatened to have me arrest in two hours.  I called the local police and called him back. Claims to be IRS from NYC office. Guy with a Filipino accent called. He said his name was Alex Marshall. He asked me to call his boss Mike Anderson, Sr. Officer, IRS back at 585-697-3455 number. I asked where he was calling from and why is he calling so early (6:30am). He said they work from 5:30am to 6:30pm. He said he is calling from Brooklane in NYC. I said there is no Brooklane in NYC only Brooklyn. He said that's what he said. Then I said the area code for the number he gave is not NYC but Rochester. He insisted it was NYC. I realized I was talking to a scamster. I said I didn't want to talk to him any more.

A Ricky Masheed cld and sd i need to talk to a Mike Anderson and that this Mike would tell me the problems i have with my tax papers. When i googled this 585 number, found out it was a hoax.

I got the same call many times. I never returned it because i was not using my home phone. When I am trying to use it. I had 15 voice mails from the same number. But, the message is the same in all only different is different person name who left the voice mail. Same names as you guys mentioned it above. THIS IS A SCAM. I called them back. nobody picked it up.

Got a Call this morning from someone claiming to be from IRS asking me to call a Mike Anderson at 585-697-3455 x 604.  I told him IRS always contacts via letter so why phone this time and he said just call to ask the officer.  I will wait for IRS letter.  This seems to have scam written all over it.

Didn't recognize the number so I let it go to voicemail. The message was from this strange man with a heavy foreign accent telling me not to ignore the call and call back immediately. I couldn't really understand him but he mentioned "tax"? So I assume it's this IRS scam..

Don't be fooled!

I just got a call this morning (3rd attempt, I hung up on him twice a few weeks ago as I didn't believe him) from some Non-English speaking guy. I thought I better hear him out. Yes he was loud, rude and demanding that I call the IRS immediately & ask for Mike @ extension 09. It seemed sketchy and thank goodness for the internet and being able to google the 585# that he gave me and to see that you all have received the exact same phone call.
I hope nobody buys into this and doesn't lose any $ on this scam

I received three calls from a person with the same accent that I couldn't understand. He used two different names: burt brown and John baker saying that I have a problem with the IRS. I googled the number and apparently it is a scam.

Called at 6.45 this morning, said he was from IRS and there was a problrm with my tax return. I said "hey john, I remember your name and your voice from the two times you called me about problems on my windows PC. Please add me to your do not call list." His response was "oh is that riiight? Well I guarantee you will have problems, I guarantee it." You know, exactly how the IRS would respond :P don't pay attention to these clowns.

Wake me up at early morning. Asking me call this number and express him self is IRS agent. Normally, any goverment issue will be notify by mail or by phone with formal channel number.
