I got a missed call on cell from +6001

I received three calls from this number today. I finally answered. They said they were calling about maintenance on my computer. I know that story so told them to never call me again.

That phone number just called my old phone but I didn’t answer

How can i stop recieving those calls

Now.. this wrong number calling me. Is a scammer?

No name in the Caller ID?  No message?  Sounds scammy to me.

Missed call from 6001

I keep getting calls from this number and from other phone numbers that are similar to it. For example *3001, *2001 etc. I believe its a foreign number, I read somewhere in an article that its spam. These calls are meant for people to pick and once you do, you may end up receiving a charge for answering a long distance call, usually these calls come from India so people, block these calls and don't pick up phone numbers you don't recognize. If it is important, people can leave a voicemail and then, we can get back to them. ;)

I just got a number as well and im panicking hard because ive never gotten a call like this before and i got one around 10-15 minutes ago, I answered the call, said hello, and everything was just in spanish, i tried to call back but it said the number was invalid and to call 611.

You frighten easily.  It's a call by a robot from a spoofed number.  See post from B-Edwards above, that guy is like a God and knows his stuff.

Hey Steph, I doubt you'll see this 3 years later but thank you so much for this post! I'm searching and cannot find anything whatsoever! Does anyone know or even have an idea of what the hell this could be? Kinda hoping it's a blocked number thing, but prob not cuz it shows up as blocked, right?

Ally, why are you panicking hard? Did you contact your service provider to figure out if u were charged for long distance? If not, I'd do that, and try to talk to someone to make a record of what happened. I dunno, but to me it seems like there must be some type of protection? I mean, [***], just for answering an incoming call.....being charged? Can tell ya, if I do end up answering, ain't no way I'm gonna be paying for it, and if they do try, I'll just make the biggest scene ever at metro pcs, lol. So Ally, you should do that, roll up a fatty, and chill, yeahhhh
