This number is from the University of Phoenix and recently started calling me often. I don't want to be on their call list anymore!

They have been calling three or four times a day - when I answer, no one responds. Is there anyway I can file a civil or criminal complaint against these idiots?

BTW, neither I nor my wife have ever requested information from this educational fraud.

I've been getting at least 6 calls everyday from these people for the last week. I don't answer numbers I don't know and they never leave a message. I finally tracked where the call was from (University of Phoenix) and went to their website. There is a link in the top right corner that says chat live. When the rep came on I told her to take me off of the list and she went through the motions and said she would.

3 hours later...
I get another call from them. This time, I'm passed being nice because these people contacted me months ago with totally different numbers and I told them then that I was not interested, and now this. I answered the phone and the lady asks for my mother by name. I asked her what this was about and she said that she was calling to talk about the info that she had requested. I informed her that my mom is well into her sixties and not thinking about going back to school. She asked if she could leave her number in case my mom had questions. I told her that she needs to check her sources next time and not to call back. She said she would update the information, so if I get another call, it's going to be a lot of fun!!

yup. same thing here. since i upgraded my phone. i answered once and got nothing. but for at least 3 years ppl have gotten these calls, so i'll assume its phoenix. there is also another number as well. i'm just going to call the carrier and see if they're aware of this and try to contact these ppl to take me off the list.  i'll be back later to report. if i don't return, then its an invasion and they got me.

okay! about 4 hours later i received another call. i answered and got disconnected.  annoying! its now nearly 24 hrs later on a sunday, and its been quiet. do electronic services take sundays off?!

After getting 5-6 calls a day for nearly a week I called them back. The lady who answered said University of Phoenix how can I help you? I told her I had been receiving 5-6 calls a day from them and needed the calls to stop. She asked me for my number and then asked if the number belonged to a Zak something (I didn't get the last name). Of course I said no I had no idea who that was and I have had the number for years. She said it would take a couple hours and they would remove my number for the list. I hope I never hear from them again, but will file a complaint if it continues.

This number has been calling me 9 times a day on my home phone and cell phone and its really pissing me and my parents off because they wont stop.

It is University of Phoenix trying to get you to talk to an enrollment specialist. If you ever fill out anything about furthering your education they will call you and it never ends. But at least you know now who is calling you.

I recieved a call but did not leave a message

These damn people need to leave me alone.

Initially the caller said he is responding to my inquiry about a Masters degree program at the University of Phoenix, but I already have a Masters degree and I never inquired about it. I continue to receive calls from this number, but I simply ignore.  (I save telemarketer numbers in my contacts under "Spam" so I know to ignore if they try calling again, which many of them do.)

However, when these calls happen repeatedly I also submit the FCC online complaint form http://esupport.fcc.gov/complaints.htm to make them aware of the problem and hopefully investigate if enough of us file complaints about the same Telemarketers.

They call me every day but say nothing and it's annoying.I didn't sign up for anything so I don't know how they got my number but they need to stop calling me.When I answered the phone, no one spoke.

I keep getting calls from this number and from several other numbers tied to private colleges. If you submit an online request for college information, your info goes to a lead company that sends your info to several colleges immediately and simultaneously... but in this case today, I believe someone else has gone online and submitted my personal information without my permission.... an interesting form of harrassment!

this is the admissions office. they call you after they receive your info from an online ad / form being submitted to them requesting more info.

After weeks of them calling day and night, I finally started answering them and asking to be removed from their call lists.  Unfortunately, after doing this close to a dozen times now, I'm still receiving 2, 3, or sometimes even more calls a day from them.  The worst part is that they call as early as 8am and as late as 10pm sometimes, very annoying, especially the 8am calls on weekends and other mornings when I can actually sleep in some...

I specifically asked for email communication ONLY from University of Phoenix, and they call me at least 3 times a day and do not leave a message.  This is very irritating and unprofessional.

If you requested info online, there is not Email only option that I have found.  There is and Online degree only option.
