    Like the 3 people before me, I'm following up on a text that was sent to my mom from this number about a breast screening appointment via screeningbc.ca (which is appropriately redirected to the screening page on the BC Cancer website.

    I reached out to the official number (604-877-6187) and they reported to me that they do use these automated numbers to send notifications about appointments, and all you need is your health care number and details to confirm if you have an appointment set up and where it is.

    Good to be cautious, but this situation is not a scam, it's legitimate. Some people just forget they booked an appointment possibly more than a year prior.
