got a call on my cell phone from (607) 397-8255. Showed up as New York on caller ID. I didn't answer and they left a message with a robotic voice that they were the IRS and this was my final warning before they took legal action against me. This is a scam that I read about on the IRS website. I blocked them on my iPhone and will try to report it somewhere. The FBI/IRS/... Other government agencies should not let these crooks get away with it.

And they also left the same message regarding IRS is getting ready to file a law suit against me.

Called me first on 11-13-14 from 512-453-9341 in Austin, TX and said "Hello, we have been trying to reach you. This call is officially the final notice from IRS, Internal Revenue Services. The reason of this call is to inform you that IRS is filing lawsuit agaisnt you. To get more information about this case file, please call immediatly on our department number, 202-821-4201. I repeat, 202-821-4201. Thank you."
I did not call them back.

They called me again the next day on 11-14-14 from a different number 607-397-8255 in NY and left the same message.

Got a call from 607-397-8255 saying it was IRS and this was the final time trying to contact me before they sued me ! I was to call a (206) number and give them all my info ! Not happening !!!!

Robo call said the IRS was suing me and I had to call this different number right away.

Calling all day long now! I changed my answering machine to a machine-generated (instead of a personal) one and if I pick up and hang up right away, they still call back. Doesn't do any good to report to FCC.

Message from caller stating the IRS is suing you call a (202) DC area code number of rmore information.  Yeah, right!  SCAM.

They called at 7:22am.  That is OBNOXIOUS.  I plan to file complaints with the FTC and my congress people cuz I CANNOT stand it if these scofflaws are going to start getting me out of bed with their foolishness.  What will it take to put some teeth into the do-no-call list?

I am in Australia and am constantly called by Canadian Pharmacy and this time the number came up as +1 (607) 397 8255

This is a scam number.  I got an automated recording saying it was a final notice from the IRS.

Caller is a recording in good English that claims this is the final attempt to reach me, claims the IRS is going to file a lawsuit against me unless I call them back and provides a phone number too fast to write down.  Totally bogus, the IRS sends you letters in the mail, never calls you (that would give you their phone number!) with a threat to sue, etc.  I suspect they would immediately ask you for your SSN and other information, which I would NEVER give out to an unknown caller.
