A man with an extremely thick accent left a message saying, "my name is officer Michael Brown, I'm calling from Federal Investigation Department".  He went on to say something like that there was an investigation on me, as well as my home address. I called back and got a recording and hung up. Got a call back twice from the same number; answered it the second time. He said "yes, I got a call from this number" and asked who was calling. I said, "no, I got a call from YOUR number with a message left for me saying you were from the Federal Investigation Department so that being the case, I would like your badge number as well as a name and phone number for your supervisor". Of course, he hung up. I guess he was hoping to scam me.

I got a call from this number everyday for the last two weeks now. A recorded message of a woman who says that she is from the IRS and that they were filing a law suit against me and I had to call back to find out what was going on. I didn't call the number they told me to call, but the number they had called my phone with and it went straight to a message saying "the line is no longer in service". I'm pretty sure if it was the real IRS it would of been answered. So total BS.

They just called me, recorded message that IRS filed a lawsuit against me and this is the last warning, to call back, area code 253, did not catch next three numbers, last four were 5016 or 5056.

This is the scam IRS warns about - they posted warnings on IRS web site for a couple years now.  IRS warns to never call back that number and that IRS ONLY sends notices to taxpayers via US mail, never by telephone (if you ever called IRS, you have to wait on hold nearly forever - they would not have resources to waste to call people randomly with "warnings").

Received a call from this number stating i am being sued by the IRS.

This scam artist needs to be shut down... whatever happened to the "do not call" list?

Inspite of  all the news about NSA spying and other programs, con men keep making money by phoning people. There have been IRS and immigration scams by similar thugs. Many people are paying up so they continue with such calls. I don't understand why are our investigative agencies being so helpless and are unable to catch these thugs.

Unfortunately many are paying these thugs and they still keep calling. Some are using authentic government phone numb ers. I don't understand how is it possible to use such numbers and why is our government unable to stop these people?

Just received a phone call from this number.  Recorded message said it was the IRS and that I needed to call 202-223-8657.  Tried to call both numbers back and they are not in service.  From reading these posts it must be a scam.

Just got call from 607-767-0057 saying Canada Revenue Agency has lawsuit against me and to call 613-699-????, I didn't get the last 4 digits. If anyone gets the rest of them can you post here.

Recording of a woman's voice: just called from this number saying there was an IRS case pending against us, and to call some other number. Voice tried to have American accent, but failed at the grammar.

Just received a phone call from 607-767-0057 with a display name of Kenworth of E ...automated recording requested I call 209-813-0138 as IRS is filing a lawsuit against me. I don't owe IRS anything so clearly waste of everybody's time.

I was called a few minutes ago from this number. I answer as I have clients in North America. The line was very poor (maybe Skype or similar) so straight away I knew what it was likely to be. I told the female with her broken English she could either go away while I was being polite or she could continue and I would get very abusive. She went. I think the product was medical but I wasn't paying much attention.

The Phone Company providing service to this fraudulent caller should shut down 607-594-4642 or be fined. There is abundant evidence that fraud is attempted from the number. Phone service providers are culpable.
