I sure it’s a scam, because I was just informed that all my debt had been canceled. So I’m actually debt free, my credit score jumped up accordingly. The only time I answered I asked who’s speaking, she said Amika and informed me the call was being recorded. I always tell them they have the wrong person because they always butcher my name.

This company has been calling me on/off for the past 5 years for a debt that had been paid off almost 3 years earlier.  They buy lists of names/contact info from a 3rd party and call unsuspecting people hoping to scare people into paying debts they either never had, or have already paid off.  They are vermin and I suggest anyone who gets a call from them immediately block their number.  If they call again with a different number and you unwittingly answer, don't answer any of their questions and hang up.  They will try to ask you, over and over and over again, if you are "Jane Smith" (or whoever) and they avoid at all costs telling you who they are.  If you get a call from someone asking you to confirm ANYTHING about yourself without telling you upfront who they are and why they are calling, HANG UP.

DEbt collecter, very very slimy, and very trick.

I have my cell phone set to "Ring only for Contacts". Everthing else stays silent. If they don't hang up, it goes to Voice Mail... which I never check. Priceless!

They lost an $8 million lawsuit against them by the city of New York. They have also been sued and lost thousands in judgments against them many other times. They are known for illegal threats and  activities.  They have over 500 known numbers that they called from, so blocking them is pointless. What does work is enlisting the help of one of the many attorneys that specialize in suing these jerks. They will get you up to $1500 per call.
