I started getting text messages last night an had no idea what they were for an just found out they have been charged an £1. 50 each and in total £18 phoned orange an they have palmed me off an said I have to sort it myself but can't get through. Surely orange should be able to refund coz I have never used the service or would and it looks like everyone is on orange that its happened to. That makes me think they have got my number off them. An they won't do anything

I had a text message. The sender was "john" normally when a stranger texts you it just shows their number, because it displayed the name john(I have 3 johns in my contact list) I clicked to open message assuming it was a contact of mine,

The preview pane reads "Is this your missus on f?kbook?"

Thinking it was a reliable source and my missus was cheating on me I opened the message immediatley my phone went straight to a porn site, not the one mentioned in the text message. I kept hitting back button to get off it. My missus wasn't on there by the way!

Within moments of opening that textmessage I get a text every ten minutes without fail £1.50 a go to recieve them, so I have a 1 month old htc desire hd smartphone racking up £9 per hour for a service I did not request or accept any terms and conditions for.

This is fraud and theft as far as im concerned, I have been in touch with 3 my network provider and told them I have cancelled the direct debit and until the matter is resolved I wont be paying the bill.

I have tried texting STOP and & STOP ALL to the number I am recieving them from which is 69026.

I have recieved the text stating I am removed from further mailings but they continue to arrive every ten minutes

At no point was I made aware that I was going to be charged for anything.

Based on my Google research, the number can be traced back to switchfire.

The only way to stop the bill clocking up is to turn my phone off. It is already upto £60 in the space of 12 hrs, obviously I have not had the phone permanentely on for the twelve hrs or it would be higher than that.

I am in cardiff, Switchfire is in London. Personally I would rather spend the £60 on fuel to go there and thump (or worse) the villian responsible.

I will be escillating this as far as I can.

I wish you all success in getting your monies refunded.

I can no longer use my phone, the inconvenience of this is huge for me, some scumbag is living of these immoral earnings. I am completley astounded that this sort of nonsense is allowed to happen.

This would not be allowed to happen if it was for example an electrical retailer calling at your door, ringing the doorbell and you having to buy whatever garbage they are selling just because you opened the door. Thats all I did was simply open the door to this garbage unknowingly of course.

On the other hand if they had been open and honest about the content, if the message read for example " by opening this text you agree to pay £9 per hour for porn you are not recieving " then I could of simply deleted the nonsense and got on with the rest of my life, instead of this and due to the fraudulent way in which this has been landed on me, I assume I will be spending the next few weeks on the phone listening to call centre music, excuses and  Wondering when 3 will be sending the baliffs round to take my childrens food out of their mouths because I cancelled the direct debit. Meanwhile Simon Blackburn the guy who runs switch fire (I quote this http://www.scaminformer.com/scam-report/switchfire-simon-blackburn-switchfire-ltd-switch-fire-c6130.html ) is probably on holiday in mexico spending our money.

    Grrrrrrr

I will not simply pay up and try to reclaim the money at a later date, I know I am in the right and in my opinion a victim of a crime therefore I sall not pay in the first place.

I have just sent the following:
I have left a message asking you to contact me re the above. I have heard nothing from you.
I am a foster carer for R, a vulnerable 16 year-old who recently saved hard and bought a phone on the O2 network. Since then he has received a total of 15 texts from you, charged at £1.50 each, 4 of which were explicitly pornographic the other 11 thanking him for viewing your content, which he hadn't. He has requested you stop this theft 4 times, but is still receiving these unwanted and unsolicited texts.
The phone number in question is 0*********1.
    I demand that you:
stop sending unsolicited pornographic material to minors,
refund the £22.50 you have already stolen from him

Your "business practice" is nothing short of fraud. A copy of this e-mail will be sent to my MP, www.phonepayplus.org.uk, Social Services (who are responsible for the well-being of R) and the police who we will actively encourage to take action against you for sending pornographic material to a minor.

I look forward to reading your response.

I wonder what, if anything, will happen before I take the threatened actions - which I most certainly will.

The C**ts at switchfire are at it again people. They are sending emails out which have www.eygk.com in the title. When opened on your mobile phone (mine accidently due to touchscreen sensitivity and i know its scam spam) automatically subscribes you without your permission or knowing what you are subsribing to, to switchfire and you recieve a mesage saying 'thank you for viewing our content' This i know is illegal and will be phoning ofcom and phonepayplus asap on monday morning. The first charged message was from 89300 which cost £1.50. This was from:

    OpenMarket

    15th Floor
    389 Chiswick High Road
    London
    W4 4AL

    0844 824 7441
    cs@openmarket.com

If you  phone your mobile operator,  they will give you a landline number to call from which you can stop recieving premium rate messages from Switchfire (they should be called shitfire in my opinion) or any other similar company.
However you will continue to get adult related porn messages (free message 61177) with a link to www.eygk.com (followed by a jumble of letters) either as text messages or web service messages. Do not reply to them as they will incur further bills. Go to phonepayplus.com and enter the shortcode number and this will bring up a landline number from which you should be able to cancel these messages.
    Switchfire details:

    Switchfire Ltd

    2nd Floor
    66 Wilton Road
    London
    SW1V 1DE

    0844 445 7707
    support@switchfire.com

www.eygk.com is based on a server hosted by wanstor ltd in london.

    Their details:

    Telephone: 020 7592 7860
    Email: info@wanstor.com

    Wanstor ltd
    3rd Floor
    232-242 Vauxhall Bridge Road
    London
    SW1V 1AU

I feel that this is related to switchfire ltd as on google maps they are right next door to each other (coincidence, i think not) The number orange had for 61177 was a landline number with a load of nonsense advertising at the end of it. Therefore switchfire are lying to mobile phone operators as well.

I suggest that peolpe keep bombarding ofcom and phonepayplus with as many complaints as possible, and keep phoning switchfire and wanstor to complain also. BBC Watchdog may be a good idea too and i am considering starting a facebook and twitter page to hurt these companies public profiles/images and gather more evidence of their dodgy scams. Write to your MP as well. All in all the more fuss and noise made about these [***] (simon blackburn is a name that crops up associated with all of these complaints and you sir are a first class [***]) the more likely it is that they will be shut down.

I apologise for my language but people and companies like this do make the red mist descend

Please look into charging them for these mistakes.
You can write up a notice of demand for administrative costs and charges that you will charge them for wasting your time and correcting their errors.
Mail them a letter requesting a refund and reimbursement hinting that you would rather not have to take them to a small claims court.
