i got the same call today sunday nov1 at 3;45pm didnt answere the call dont know any 1 from that area code

Received this call today, November 7, 2015 at 1:29pm here in Central Ontario.
Didn't answer it - after reading all the above, thankful l didn't.
Caller now happily blocked.

Malatest is a legitimate research firm and call center who conducts surveys on behalf of the government. Not a scam whatsoever :)

This is a legitimate company. They perform program evaluations and market research. Here is the link to their website https://www.malatest.com/current_projects.htm. The call I answered two days ago was about the community I live in on a variety of issues and concerns. People often don't take phone calls from companies they don't recognize because they think they are selling something. This is not one of those. Survey feedback is important as it often helps organizations understand the diverse needs, wants and opinions of the public on various issues. It only took about 10 or 15 minutes and I did have the option not to take it at that time if I didn't want to or wasn't able.
