These guys are about as far away from a union as you can get. The link with a union is this: they TRY to sell suppllimental insurance to union members. That does not mean that the sale even occurs.My union assures me that they have no relationship with this company. They call dozens of people every day from resumes posted on Monster, among others.

I assure you that AIL is one of the most terrible companies to work for. Do not accept any interview offer. They will try to lure you in by having you sit in on one of their Monday Meetings where they pass out "tens of thousands of dollars" in bonuses. Most of it goes to the three top guys: Zach Hart, Eli (forget his last name but he's a douche) and Rob Dunn. These gentlemen are scam artists; they bring you into the company and set unbelievably high standards so you are either fired or you quit. After that, they rewrite all of the business you have ever done to themselves so they will get the residual income. This means that poor schmucks like us do all the hard work selling the insurance then once we are gone all those premiums that keep coming in from the clients go directly to these managers. And that's even if you get any clients... What they do is recycle an area until it's completely void of any potential clients, then try to sell more insurance there. When I was there about 75% of people I called had already been visited by an AIL representative and had declined the insurance, but we circumnavigated this rejection by stating that in order to claim their "Union Benefits" we had to come out and get their signatures. As you can imagine these people would get quite pissed off and would again decline the insurance.

And the union affiliation is loose at best. What they do is purchase union members' contact information from the unions and cold call the members claiming that they have to deliver benefits that their union set up for them. This is hardly the case. They are just trying to find a way to jam their foot in the door to try and sell them more insurance.

Oh and as for the manager finding your resume online.... They literally print off HUNDREDS of resumes, don't even read them, and call the numbers until they can get people in. The goal of this operation is to get as many employees moving in and out of the system as possible so that the top people can have their incomes increase.

I rec'd a call from this number this afternoon. Diane was told by her manager to call me since he saw my resume on Monster.com. I don't have a resume on Monster.com and I'm not interested in working for a company that 1. Has no HR department and 2. allows people to make calls from their living room with the TV blaring in the background. This may be a job, but it's 100% commission and it closely resembles AFLAC meaning, you don't sell anything? You don't get paid. It's a shame in these hard times that this sort of scam is legal. But trust me when I tell you, it's not anything the normal job seeker would be interested in. Tell them to take you off their list. Because there is a list since I know for a fact, I have no resume on Monster.com for this exact reason.

Called twice now and hung up when I answered.  Maybe a wrong number, but it would be nice if they would say something like "sorry - I dialed the wrong number" Pretty rude.

"Andre" called from Surace Smith saying they were voted the #1 place to work in Ohio and his hiring director David saw my resume online. At first I thought he said "StorySmith," which would make sense in my line of work. Glad I checked this online. Careerbuilder and Monster seem to be watched by recruiters in India, too, if other phone calls I've gotten are any indication....

I got the same call from Arial or Arianna from___group (she said the name very fast) saying director Hazen saw my resume and wants to meet with me for an interview to talk with union members regarding financial opportunities. Benefits, 2 weeks paid training and 65K per year as an entry level position. I thought it sounded fishy so I looked up the address and it said american life.  Good thing I saw this post, I would have wasted my time.

I received a call about a job to be working for American Income Life and Sarah stated that Mr Hart would be the person that would be doing the interview and that they have offices in Columbus and they will be opening up a Dayton office and if I was interested in a job come in for a interview on Thursday.  They gave me the address and the time the interview was suppose to be I hope this is not a scammy!!!  Will let you know if this is legit or not.

After numerous unanswered calls from this number I finally answered and the woman told me she was from American Income Life and her boss saw my resume online and wanted to interview me.  I told her I already had a job I was happy with and she continued to push and say but does your job pay you $75,000 a year because that is what the entry level salary is here.  She also went on to say that I don't need ANY experience because they do all their own training.  And then when I asked her for their website or where I could find more information, she had to look up their email address. LOL!  
Hmmm.... No experience necessary, guaranteed work and $75,000 a year....YEP, sounds legit to me!  

When insurance companies called me in response to my on-line resume...I asked real quickly the following question: " Where in my resume does it say that I am looking for a sales job of any kind ?" . The real answer is "nowhere".

But none of those insurance people calling me had the guts to admit to that truth.

I received  a call from this number today(614-515-6001). I did not answer calls if I do not reconcile them; but person left a VM, she said her name was Sara something (I could not catch the last name),and she indicated she was from HR that this was in response to a resume I sent to her organization. She never did indicate what her organization was.  She said to give her a call at 614-515-6001 x302.

Based on the comment and complaints about I been reading about, the company some insurance company called american income life and they are been calling other people to get them to work for them.  I never sent any resume to this oranizations.

I see that people go multiple phone calls from them..how did anyone make them  stop calling. They called my cell phone and I do not want my minutes being used up because of this group.

This is a SCAM. Do not call these people. Not really a job offer. When you call you get a message saying you have reached American Life Insurance. Lady calling named Brittney with HR department.

Something tells me they are pulling the info off of a monster.com or some other inter-related resume posting sites. I havent had a resume up in 10 years, but I do have an active usajobs.gov account. I didnt answer this call.

They call me 18:00 pm eastern time and left me a voice mail with extension number.  when I call back next day another guy answered not the one  who left the voice mail. He said actually he is the hiring manager.  we set up an appointment 2 days after. I just Google their number and found this forum.  I don't think I will go there.

I have gotten 4 phone calls in the past 2 days saying they had found my resume on Monster.com but they have all been from different numbers.  Ugh...I am going to start blocking numbers beause it's getting annoying.  This last one at 614-515-6001 I could not even understand the company name and I listened to it a couple of times.  She mumbled it so quickly.

I got a call from Chris Kelly with this Smith something or other company.  He left a message and said they found my name on career builder.  I called back and started asking questions on how they "found my resume" since I haven't posted on a career website in over 6 years.  The kid on the phone started getting nervous and just said he would take my name off the list.  I wouldn't let him off that easy.  I asked for the company name, who the person is that "pulls resumes", what their number and title were, etc.  Chris was very brief with his answers and told me the main line telephone number should go directly to "Zach Hart" who is the Agency Director, but he was in a meeting.  I started to ask when he'd be available, and Chris hung up on me.  I called back but the voicemail said to dial an extension or leave a message for the human resources.  The human resources vm went to someone named Shelly, I left a message about the ordeal and that I want more info.  Have yet to hear back, I googled and immediately found this page.  Ask a lot of questions if they call you, it trips them up and they will most likely not call you again.

Chris Kelly mumbled the name of the company on the voicemail he left for me as well.  I had to listen multiple times.

This number just called my home and asked for my husband.  I said he wasn't available, and the caller hung up loudly.

When I looked it up on reverse phone numbers the satellite shows location as the state house??????

Just got a call from a girl by the name of Liz...said she got my husband's resume and that she represented Surace Smith. She left a the phone number that came up on our Caller ID and then she also left an extension #500. Does not seem legit!!!!

My number is on a DO NOT CALL list, but I received a sales call today and I have a minute phone.  :(
