- ChrissOk, so these guys are major scammers. But don't worry, I just got off the phone with MasterCard (the real one), and they said that the only information these people have is your credit card #, your home address and name, and that's it. They don't have your social security # or your full bank account #, etc. As they did with me, they had my old outdated card number, so even if they try to charge me it won't go through, because the card as been cancelled. I doubt they will ship anything because if they don't charge you for it, they'd be wasting THEIR money. Also, it doesn't matter if you hung up on them or went all the way through with it and gave them your address because they have it anyway. Best thing to do if they call you:
1. Block the number
2. CANCEL CURRENT CREDIT CARD and request a new one (if they have your correct number)
3. Report them to your credit card company and OPTIONAL, report them to your attorney general (contact info is on the DOJ gov website)
If you want you can even mess with them, and ask them a bunch of questions you know they can't answer, just to expose their fraudulent nature. For me they pretended to be MasterCard- Caller: Scum of America
- kdlvSame story as with everyone else except they claimed they were wachovia. I immediately called the real wachovia (they said it wasn't a call from them) and they shut down my account.

ID Theft is a crime! - mwThey called me and wanted to confirm my address, said I used my visa card recnetly to make a $20 purchase and said they wanted to ship me a gift card. Too bad my Visa has been cancelled for about 2 years - told the guy to never call back. We'll see....
- Caller: Order Confirmation
- DJkeep getting calls from this #. Googled it...brought me to this website. Thanks to all of you that posted a comment. probably saved me from a huge headache!
- JennThis number has called me 7 - i repeat 7 times today! Finally I answered to see what it was about. It was a young man saying that he is from Vista Services and tried to confirm the last 4 digits of my credit card. He said that I have been "hand picked" to qualify for $150 dollars in gas rebates. All it is going to cost me is $2.95 for shipping. With the rebates would be a packet of information on subscribing for some membership for 30 bucks a month to receive coupons. The guy started saying that I would not have to give any information over the phone. When he said that I asked him then how are you supposed to get my payment for 2.95? oh that's right you already have my credit card number don't you?" When asked how this company got my credit card info he said that I had made a purchase with an affiliated company in the past few months! How scary is that!!!!! So while I had him on the phone I decided to google "Vista Services" he kept saying try this, try this but I could find nothing. When I said that I couldn't find anything and that I am not giving permission to use my card with a company that doesn't exist he didn't really have much to say. I can't even begin to describe how scary this is. I just had a conversation the other day about buying things online and identity theft. To get a phone call today to hear that some company that doesn't exist has my credit card number - I have no words. I feel so violated. I will definately be calling to get a new credit card and I will no longer make purchases online unless I know for sure they are accredited by BBB, etc.
- Caller: Vista Services
- HillDamn, I just got a call from this number. I felt like something was going wrong. There was no free lunch, so I googled the phone number. That is how I got to this website. I do not understand why government could not catch those and put them in jail.
- KGot 11 calls from this number and 4 from a restricted number today. I answered one time after the 3rd time, realized after about 5 seconds that it was a scam and hung up. The continued to call up until about an hour ago, I looked up this site and called back pressing *67 so my number was restricted for them and hopefully took myself out of their system. They identified themselves as VISTA card services and were offering a 120$ gas voucher that would be headed my way in a red and white envelope. I saw on another website that this happened to someone that ordered make up from E.L.F. I happened to do this about 3 years ago but since have a new card so thankfully they do not have my information.
- FirsttimeScammedCaller called me 6 times today from the same number everyone else is having problems with. I called the bf to see if he bought me something on my card lol. He claimed he didn't...and know I know he definitely did not. Thanks to all of your information posted I will be going to the bank to cancel my card. I didn't get a hold of anyone on the phone so I'm just going to request a new card. Thanks again!
- GregCell phone rang at about 7:30PM & I answered it wondering who would be calling me from 616-980-7365. A male voice (maybe in his 20's) responded after I had to say hello three times. He asked if I was Greg, I said Yes, This is Greg. He hung up! I Googled the phone number and read all of these comments. This is very handy to have this type of "intel" ready because, knowing ahead of time really prepares you on how to handle the Caller again. They did call back about 10 minutes later and I purposely let it ring - guess what? They did not leave any message as described in the prior reports on the webpage. Lucky for me, I also have a free service called YouMail.com that handles my cellphone voicemail instead of letting AT&T take them. On the YouMail webpage, I can enter the Caller ID Number and mark it as SPAM. That caller now gets a computer voice that says "The number you have called has been disconnected and there is no new number, please check the number and try your call again" followed by the three rising high pitch tones that the phone company emmits before repeating the same message again. It is so cool to be able to fight back when AT&T will not do anything about the scammers who burn up your cell phone minutes. Thanks to everyone who took the time to put their experiences on here - it's been very useful in quick research for those wierd phone numbers on our "Private" cell phones. -Greg

- C.C.I think I might know the source, but right now it's just theoretical. Not too long ago I had a fraud charge through my debit card account and I believe that they got my info through amazon.com. After that I had closed the card. Just recently they had called back confirming my information of my closed debit card account. If you've ever made a purchase on amazon, you need to add your credit card information, address, and phone number to make the purchase (all the information the number was confirming). Amazon saves that information in your account profile to make other purchases later and it doesn't disappear unless you remove it. I think someone might have hacked amazon and stolen our info. This is just a theory but I'm putting it out there because it seems plausible, my amazon account is the only one holding my old debit card information that the number was confirming, and if several people are convinced that they have this in common, then we might have found our source. (I'm NOT saying that Amazon is a bad site, but if you do have an amazon account check to see if the info on it is the information the caller is confirming). Please post any updates!

- JAMIE replies to sacI just got the same message and I have called my bank as well. How do these people get our info as far as our card numbers? It is crazy! Where else can we report them?
- PamI received a call and the caller ID said "DO NOT ANSWER" the number was 616.980.7365. I didn't answer, I looked the number up and found this blog. I have METRO PCS - I'm assuming they must have the number listed as a scam.
- AnonymGot a dozen phone calls from 3 different number in Michigan last 3 days. Don't answer them, they keep calling but change the phone numbers they call from. Good advice to all, don't answer if you don't know the number. If they were legit, they would leave a message.
- karmawildReceived a call from 616-980-7365 this evening with alot of noice in the background (and a missed call from same # this morning). Guy had the last 4 of my M/C and wanted to verify my address because I had won a years worth of free gasoline (lol, ya, right!). Of course, it was the usual "just pay $2.95 for shipping" of the gasoline vouchers. When I kept asking him for more information as to how he received my information, he said he couldn't tell me that nor could he tell me which "merchant" I shopped at. When I asked who he was with he said "Vista Marketing". I googled that company & it does exist but it obviously has nothing to do with these jerks. Thank goodness the credit card they asked about was cancelled (I changed banks) over a year ago and it was never used to purchase anything over the internet (saw another poster mention Amazon...highly doubtful Amazon was hacked since I have another card that is and has been on "file" with them). Obviously a scam! Never, ever give out or verify any information over the phone!! :)
- Caller: Vista XXXXXX

- Caller: Unknown
- NoelCalled me tonight and the line was extremely noisy. The guy on the other end said I would be getting a package of some sort in the mail then asked me to verify the lsat 4 digits of my debit card. After that I was trasnferred to someone else who I told I did not want anything they were offering. He said have a nice day and hung up. I will call my bank and my state atty. general here in Texas if my card is charged anything.
