This # is a fraud

I received several calls this morning on my cell phone with one message saying that I was being sued by US Payday for not paying a payday loan.  He said he was calling from US Legal and Law Department, a Law Firm in California.  Then a minute later they called me at work and they wanted to confirm my SSN, email address, bank name and checking account #.  I didn't confirm the information but they had everything on me.  They said I had taken out $300 and the company tried to debit my checking account 3 times but it was returned so now I was being sued and owed $548.00 and they insisted I pay it now by credit card.  I said I needed to do some checking on it and asked if I could call back, they said yes but had to call back today.  They were very rude and did not want me asking any questions.  I got on the website I supposedly owed money to and right there they have that there was telephone fraud happening and people are giving out this website.  I called the number back to ask for an address and they wouldn't give it to me and told me not to waste their time and were persistent again that I pay right then.  They ended up hanging up on me.  I had to cancel my checking account and I called the Federal Trade Commission to report it and plan on calling my state to report it.  The funny thing is they say their name is Jack Cooper but yet you can hardly understand them.

I have been receiving constant calls from them all day as well.  They get mad when asked for documentation and say "See you in Court'.  Then turn around and keep calling.  I literally have had 22 calls in the last 5 minutes which I keep hitting decline.  I called my bank and phone company.  It is obviously a scam.

These people are dispecable they keep calling me telling me that I have a law suit pending for not paying back some payday loan of $847.00, and that I have to pay them $200.00 over the phone in order for them to put a hole on the law suit.  This person had a thick indian accent and when I ask to speak to his supervisor he told me he is the supervisor. I told him I never got any money from no payday loan, and he kept saying that they would see me in court. How can we stop this kind of harrassment, this has to stop these scammers can not get away with intimidating decent citizens like us. Lets find a way to stop this abuse...

I got same message. I do not know who these people are.

these people have done the same to us but they are trying to get us to let them talk to one of our employees.  They have called 20-25 times in a matter of 10 min.  When we asked who they were they would not tell us and started talking with sexual overtones to us.  Hopefully no one will fall for their scam

I received the same type of call from a Jack Cooper stating I owed a payday loan and now I owed twice the amount.  I have until 4pm to pay today on Credit card or they will see me in court.  I do not know of any outstanding payday loans.

yea i call them back and ask what kind of payday load i took out and they say i will forward your case to something and talking about i will see you in court and his name is jack cooper by the way and i couldnt stop laughing cause he sound so indian lol  anyway i told him ok i see you in court too

I received the same calls for the last 3 days. His name sounded like Jacob or something. He told me I took out a $5000 something payday loan and that if I don't pay I will see you in court. This is obviously a scam and I'm gonna report this junk as soon as I can...

I just received a call from these guys too.  They have a strong accent and when I asked to speak to someone who spoke better english they said it was my fault cause they are speaking english.  They said I owed a payday loan of 700 but with all court fees and legal fees I owed 5443.00  I called my bank just to make sure I did not have money deposited and they said I did not and this sounded like a fraud.  I tried calling this company back and they hang up on me.  They also told me to go to court in the morning or a cop would come pick me up and take me.  If I dont pay this they will go after my boss and his company to pay.  They dont like being asked questions but they need to be stopped.  That's ridiculous.

Yes, I received a phone call from Jack Cooper in California. He has a terriorist accent. He was threatening me about paying 593 dollars for a payday loan. I received this phone call on April 21 at 9:30 am. I returned his call and informed him he will be caught. I have noticed that this person has been calling alot of people. Something needs to be done. His number is 619-863-4545.

I received the same phone call. I am angry. We need to do something. I can't believe I was so close in sending him the money. But, I did reseach on his number and found out he hitting everyone with this scam. If I would of been an elderly person I would of been in alot of trouble. Every minute that goes by I get so upset!!

I received a call from this guy as well. He called me 5 times in a row. He finally left a message stating that I need to call back beacuse on Monday there will be a law suit against me.......for what he didn't even say......This is ridiculous.

Yes, he needs to be stopped.

I received exactly as described by the others, 10 calls on my cell and work numbers in about 1/2 hour, I finally answered demanding to know why, first one guy said he would get an officer on the phone, then that next dude told me I was being sued for some payday loan.  I'm like, I've gotten exactly one of these in my life and paid it back, and still get offers from that company all the time to do it again.  They had my email and SSN and claimed the lawsuit was $5000, then hung up on me after I asked how I would know they are legit.  Definitely seems fishy, but it's got me a bit distressed.

I'm dealing with the same thing at the moment! I've spoken with two different men (and I swear they have different names every time I talk to them). There is a Jack Cooper, Jason James, Mark Brown and Ted Miller. Obviously not real names considering I can't understand a single word they say.

They started calling 2 weeks ago and I didn't hear anything for 10-12 days, then all of a sudden they started calling my MOM and her SO. I finally called them back because that worried me and I was told that I had 3 indictments filed against me for a pay day loan that I supposedly took out over the internet for $300 and never repaid. I checked bank accounts just to double check and it's total crap.

They've called me 10 times or so a day and only leave one or two messages and they're always saying they're going to take me to court, call my employer and show up at my place of employment with the cops to arrest me. Oh and I'm apparently supposed to be in court next week. Ha - right.

Totally a scam and don't waste your time. Report them every way possible.

Total scam. They started calling me the week before finals. They called on a Friday, telling me they were filing papers the next morning at Six am. No court house in the country is open at six am on a saturday. I was pretty shaken up none the less and called a lawyer. She said that I should not even answer the phone and if they call again and I do answer tell them to press charges. I have checked my account myself, and I have checked through my bank. I never once received a loan from them. I dont want to have to change my phone number, but its getting to the point where I might have too.

I have this happening to me right now from a 213-256-0408 california number I went the police dept they said I can talk to an attorney but they would wait to see if anything comes of it. I didn't hear anything for 2 weeks until today again. Saying his name was Sam Russell. What did you do? Did anything ever come of this? I need to know what I should do!
