iv had the same issue , the guy that called me was named David Clark. hew said hewas going to call my friends and job and tell them of how horrable of a peson i was. and he would have the authorities come to my job and home. i have a friend who is an attorney,he had called the number back and told the guy he was my attorney and this guy David asked for his bar number. my friend had told this guy he was on the line with the FBI as soon as he said that the guy called him a american [***] and hung up

A man with a strong accent calls me several numbers over the past couple of months stating that I have committed a criminal internet crime against a payday loan company. Each time I have asked them to send me proof of the loan. Then he becomes very rude and proceeds with telling me if I don't resolve this matter they will have the police come to my home and arrest me. After noticing a charge on my bank statement, I called the company to refund my money because I did not authorize a loan with the company nor did they deposit any money into my account. The man was very upset and stated that I would be taken to court for this. I told him so you are saying that you are going to take me to court for money I never received. I informed him that would be okay because I do keep all of my bank statement and can show proof of any money that has gone into my account. These people call’s me at work and my cell phone. The calls come from 201-549-8052, 626-384-3265, 904-410-8149 and 777-777-7777 all being the same voice accept the one time when a woman called and still with a very heavy accent. Since then I have made a report with the Federal Trade Commission and has also request copies of my credit report.

I received tgen phone calls today January 16,2012 from some  person with an accent. He said my name and social security number was involved in a lawsuit. I tried to ask him for more information but he told me to call 818-337-3042 and speak to his boss Michael Carter. I tried to call the number  and a woman said the voice mail was full. I am so scared.

I received a message from a California number.  It was 818-337-3042 and from a man with a heavy accent who called me by name and said he was a Mark Williams.  Never heard from them in my life before.  They called me only once so far and that was yesterday but mentioned something about attorneys and my attorney and if they didn't hear back from me than "good luck".  I tried numerous times yesterday calling back and only got a woman with a heavy type accent and it was only stating that they were the Dept. of Legal Affairs and Investigations.  It was a mailbox and it was full all day long?!  Crazy!  I deal with my 100% disability from the military which is ptsd along with other things and this is the "last" type of phone call I need!  If you receive any calls from the above mentioned number I just am warning folks as well!  Thanks.  I live in Ohio and so trying to call California back all day with them being 3 hours behind me I would have thought they would have checked that "full" mailbox at some point and allow me to get through if it was that important!

Called me too and at work. When I talked to them this evening they had my ss and all my bank account info. its a scam. I called the police and when they showed I made a report and They advised me to call the bank and the credit bureaus so they can moniter....And after I got into my bank account online and my security on my computer popped up saying the security on the site for this account is being tampered....freaking out and calling the bank pronto in the morning

A call just came through today 4-14-12 a man with a asian accent stated he was from the new york state department of legal affairs and investigations saying they had a law suit aggenst me asking me for me ssn my other info thats oviousely private information and i asked him what this was about and he said he doesnt know my case but to call 213-283-8557 to speak to michael Carter please does anyone know anything about this?????? IS IT FORREAL OR A SCAM????

I have gotten the same phone calls except from 213-261-6494 and 866-464-9547. Each time a man with a foreign accent leaves a message saying I will regret what is going to happen to me. Yesterday I spoke with a woman who said I was going to be MURDERED in 2 hours. I can never get them to tell me what they want. However,they do have all my personal info including my address, bank acct., where I work and ss#. I have turned the info over to my local police and the police in Los Angeles. These people are dangerous and need to be stopped and jailed immediately.

Got the the same 3 times from a  asian guy that you couldn't understand very well. We need tp do something about this issue, They aren't going to quite until they are put in jail. They just scare the hell out of people and what are they doing with our personal information? I don't like that at all. I dont know what information they have of mine but, I was reading some of the other posts and wow!! I guess I'm also going to call the Los Angeles police Dept, I did call my local police Dept. I cant understand why the police dept there dont check it out if enough people call to report it.

I received a call from a women with a very heavy indian accent, and they say they need a call back immediatly from Dept of Legal affairs investigation are these people real?

I JUST received the same call from (415) 484-6151 and I harassed the man so badly about this that he ADMITTED that it WAS a SCAM!  I am so angry as he bothered me AT WORK.  I knew it was a scam right away - but couldn't believe he ADMITTED IT!

If you get a call from Dept. of Legal Affairs & Investigators saying that you owe money and the authorities are coming to you TODAY to arrest you - IT'S A SCAM people!
