- RevengerI got a high risk loan through and dealer in Findlay Oh. Wife left and I gave her our car so had to get something. Since I had got laid off and have had 3 jobs and have been making payments every month and I know I am behind but they think we all have a money tree well I don't. They have called my father and father in law and brother and brother in law and rude to all of them. I will not talk to them anymore because they are [***], I even got a call on Thanksgiving. That was it. Sometimes life just kicks our [***] and we do the best we can. I don't need hassled for a 2002 Ford. Their system sucks and they don't take a debit card like most of the real world.
- Lynn PattenThis is a collection agency, but they are always seeking info. in regards to my niece. They even want to know where she lives!!! Thank Heavens, they use
her first name(which she rarely uses). I can come home and there is a message, stating to call them back in regards to (my niece's name) and provide info. about her.- Caller: Consumer Portfolio
- MickyA man named Steve called my cell phone once yesterday didn't leave a msg. He called today and left a msg indicating his name was Steve from CPS and I needed to call him back immediately regarding an arrangement for my vehicle at 888.284.1420.
Being that this company has many complaints, I am not going to call him back from my cell phone but will wait and make a call when I can call privately to see what they have to say. His msg is saved.- Caller: CPS
- Disgusted| 1 replyWe have a loan with CPS , our credit was crappy several years ago and our dealer hooked us up with the lovely CPS. BIG, BIG MISTAKE!!!! We have a some late payments. As everyone else is saying, they harass you, threaten to repo your car, call all your references and harass them as well. My question is...What rights do I have? I talked with rude Mary from CPS today, she told me the reason we got this loan was because our credit sucked. She then proceeded to tell me, if we paid our bills on time, maybe we could have gotten a loan with a better company! Hmmmm.... I am so frustrated with this company. Does anyone have any suggestions.

- Delainea PThey repossessed my Jeep Liberty today. They entered a closed shared garage and pulled it out when I was not home. Part of me is glad it is gone maybe the harassment that has caused heart problems for me will stop, sounds like it wont. I will be contacting an attorney in the AM. I contacted an attorney a couple months ago and was told I could only get 1000.00 for the Fair debt collection act but they could go after me for the full amount of the loan so I left it alone. Now I wish I had not. It sounds to be like they just keep getting bigger and bigger as a company.

FILED BBB REPORT WISH THEY WOULD GO OUT OF BUSINESS OR FIRE THEIR COLLECTION DEPARTMENT. CONTACT ME WITH INFO FOR CLASS ACTION LAW SUIT PLEASE PLEASE
- Amber replies to DisgustedYou have the same rights as a person with excellent credit. I don't care if you bought the car and never made a payment, these [***] have no right to speak to anyone in the manner in which they do. Plus, they use scare tactics such as posing as towing and auction companies, calling your neighbors and family, calling your jobs. All totally without a doubt against the law!
- LouI actually had a finance manager at a dealership tell me and my husband that he would lose a sell before he financed us with CPS. Now that's BAD!!!!

- BobConsumer Portfolio Services at 630-288-2800.
The number associated with that is also 630-288-2833. A "Richard Martin" is the name he uses on the phone, but if you call after hours you get someone elses name. He is in Northbrook, Illinois. There is also a "Kevin Sullivan" that is supposedly his supervisor, and was SHOCKED that Richard would divulge personal information to a neighbor. After all, he had been with him for over 20 years!
Lies... I will find "Richards" home phone and address and post it here for all to see. Wonder how he will like getting calls at all hours of the day? Better yet, lets get a group together and picket the offices of CPS in Northbrook. Maybe we would get to meet "little Dick" in person??- Caller: Consumer Portfolio Services

- BarbaraThis company called my sister's house this morning - my husband listed my sister as a reference, however, the person they spoke to was my adult niece who was there visiting. She was not listed as a reference. They were rude, threatening, and condesending toward her and I am fed up. Last week, they called my husbands place of employment and was rude and threatened the finance personel there. We recently moved and instead of listing our physical address ont he change of address cards, I got a post office box in the neighboring town (post office is only a mile away). I did this for a totally different (personal) reason, but I don't think I will send them the physical address now after reading all of your complaints. I did just file a complaint with the FTC - which each and every one of you should do. I went as far as begging them to put a stop to this company "terrorizing" people because, in my opinion, that is what they are doing! I am going to do some research to find out how to get a class action suit filed against them, but I need to know that I have plenty of people that will go ahead with the suit it I start it. I will post back here as soon as I can find out what has to be done - then I will list forum where you can contact me with your information and complaints. So, how many of you will actually stand up for your rights and fight this company with me???
