Just got a call from them today. I spoke with Ann Sabath (the last name might be a little off, but that's what it sounded like) - she gave me this number to call her back when I wanted to switch lines.
    800-727-3757 - ext. 106
The company is in New York - and the number that showed up on my phone was 631-941-4613.

She said she was calling because she was working with Boulder Labs who were offering an incentive program to their employees to purchase services from outside businesses.  She asked me to commit to giving a discount, and then she wanted me to send her a bio and agree to write articles for their quarterly newsletter - on top of asking me to pay $795 for a year long listing, with no stats about how many people actually hire the businesses on the list, or a trial period, etc. I didn't find out about the fee until I was on the phone with her for 30 minutes, and when I told her that was too expensive she stopped being nice and started berating me about how I was missing a great opportunity.  Uh-huh, sure.

I mean, it's not unlike any lead generation company, but their sales technique is so aggressive (and apparently dishonest, too - because she said someone I trust referred me to them - and I later found out she did not even know about them) that it makes me think that they really don't have much to offer, and are hoping that people will take the gamble, spend this money, and not tell their friends when it doesn't work out.  Well, they didn't count on me and my big mouth.  Beware of this company and their tactics.

My company has recieved several calls from this number (last one on 9/20/10), from an individual named Nick representing PerksCard (www.perkscard.com) which is also a subsidiary of Augeo Affinity Marketing, Inc.  I was tasked with pursuinig this.

Nick was pitching their service to our company, where we would distribute "Perks" cards to our employees (~2800 people), which when presented at local businesses and national franchises, would get discounts.  Nowhere in their presentation or contract does it states a slection process of limiting which vendors are listed, just that they are tons of local and national business and we could even request Perks to look into adding ones not part of their network.  This comes with no cost to our company; however, part of ther contract states:

"In order to advertise discounts available to COMPANY NAME employees, COMPANY NAME agrees that “Perks” has the right sell space to pariticaptint local business on all printed PerksCard and on www.perkscard.com the funds from which may be received in thre form of commission and as payment-in-full for all production costs and services offered."

"The undersigned agrees to the use of the COMPANY NAME for press releases during the term of agreement.”

It appears from my research, that "Perks" targets very large reputable companies (like my own and I've seen Northrop Grumman on other sites like this), with their service for no cost.  They then use these company's names in their sales pitch to vendors, in an attempt to legitimize their company, and to also have "proof" that there is a sizeable audience that will see the vendors name.  Their dealing with vendors does not seem as nice as their delaings with the name brand companies which I am not surprised by how pushy they were with us in getting a response back to them.  From what I've read online they withhold costs, and will lie by claiming they will be the only one listed for their service.

All in all, there is enough negative information on about this company that I would suggest people do enough research before agreeing to anything.

Just got a call from this number, from Robert, claiming to be associated with East Bay MUD, the water and garbage department of the East Bay in the San Francisco area. They claimed to be part of their events department and wanted to get in touch with someone from Premiere Eventworks (my company) regarding the possibility of planning events for EBMUD. The number to call them back at was an 800 number.

Thank goodness for all the feedback that has already been left. Because of the above feedback, I'll be sure to not call them back. I have no idea how they are getting away with throwing names of big companies, private or public, around for their own benefit. Beware when dealing with anyone from this number.

Said she was represent the Safeway stores and they wanted her to provide a list of services that could be offered to the Safeway employees at a discount. She also kept me on the phone almost 30 minutes before dropping the bombsheel that Safeway wasn't paying for this service and wanted $795.00 to participate.

Got a call from Abe Delgado from 631-941-4613. When I wanted to call him back he gave me a different number to call. Said he wanted to use our company's service for all of Sibley Memorial Hospital's employees. Wanted $795 up front. He hadn't done any research on our company, said he was picking us out of all the other companies he contacted. Thanks for the above posts for pointing out this scam.

I am not sure why everyone says such bad things about this company.  i too was called by Nick and he was extremeley courteous and sincere.  He was very informative and was never pushy.  In fact it is now 6 months later after we decided to offer our employees these discounts and he still calls to see if there is anything more he can do for us.  I understand everyone has different experiences but what you are saying is nothing at all like the person we spoke with.  We plan on continuing our relationship with them for years to come.  Our employees love the cards and we even able to help suggest local businesses they wanted.  We have received several letters of thanks from businesses in our community thanking us for the influx of business in this unstable economy.  I am very happy.

Nice try Nick. I have spoken with you, and you are NOT "extremely courteous and sincere."

Just received a call from this number. Regardless of the intention of this company, the mere fact that I had to research it doesn't impress me and frankly is a waste of my time which I don't have enough of. Do you? I looked on the perkcard website and I don't see "Life University" anywhere, or at least it's password protected. Sorry. You're not getting a callback from me.

I just recv'd the same call, only she said they were representing Winn-Dixie and looking for an event planner their employees could go to for personal and corporate events. I searched the number online since they did NOT mention their OWN NAME in the message - only dropping the Winn-Dixie name.

I will not be calling them back after reading posts here.

Received a call from this number claiming to work for a hospital in Oak Park, Illinois. I knew this was suspicious because the area code of the phone number is from New York. The caller asked questions about my business in an attempt to get me to offer a discount on wedding photography services. First of all, who is going to a hospital for a wedding photographer? When I asked what she was selling, she said nothing, then said I probably wasn't the right business for the referral. Well, duh.

It's apparent that the person calling from this number only pretends to work for these businesses-- what company they actually work for is anyone's guess...

I just received a call from this number. The caller was looking for a chiropractitioner to work out some discount offers for the benefit program of Baltimore's teachers' union. I am an acupuncturist, so I expressed my interests of working out some discount offers with their program. But she told me that she would consult with her supervisor and get back to me later.
Afterwards, I was wondering the area code of her number was actually from New York, which caused me questioning how much truth in this call. So I googled this number, and saw all these comments about it. Now, I hope she will not call me any more.

thanks for all these shared information.

I too just received a call from this company claiming the same thing.... targeting certain businesses to offer a discount to the VA hospital and Mercy Medical employees.  I spoke with a rep. from Mercy and said they have been contacted by this company, however, have not received any information on how/when they will be getting the PERKS card.  It will only cost my company $695.  I called several other businesses that said they are participating, have paid the $$ but have not received any contract from Augeo Affinity. ;(

The message left was about me providing professional referrals to Virginia Mason hospital, leaving a 1-800 number to respond to.

Why would someone in New York call in behalf of a local hospital?  Why call back to a different number?

    Yeah, sure buddy.....

Called was made from Valerie Mulligan from this number and she gave me an 800-727-3757 x161 to call her back.  She said she is from Long Island.  Represented herself from the City of this area, saying she was in the HR department.  After I investigated the number on the web and spoke with her again, I called her on it as she is actually with Augeo Affinity, a "designer of the Perks Card Program".  She wanted us to provide discounts to 8500 city employees (there are only 3500) for a cost to us of $1895 or $3500 if we wanted our logo and contact information on the card.  I called the Director of the City - and not only did they say this is a scam, but they have their own discount program that costs vendors NOTHING if they wish to participate.  When Valerie called back, I told her what I had learned, and she said she was representing the "Retirement and Benefits" division.  I asked for a phone number and name to verify - and she said they won't talk to anyone because they don't have time to field the calls.  I asked for a letter from the City stating this was legit - she said they wouldn't give her one.  I told her I believed this is a scam and we are not interested.  I have to tell you this... she was very good and believable.  Not the typical sales scam type of call.  But beware!
