Had this call yesterday- same as a lot of the above people described. Doris 855-888-5881 Ceylon Tech Support. Glad I did not call back.

on the remote they hide that think
they are totally fake..

they are going to take your credit card information.
name,card number,cvv number,validity

please stop some one....

they care calling from any  voip account(8000...)
if you ask him where did you get number...
through our international routing system we get error that your system is not respond to the Microsoft update..

they are totally scam

Same story as everyone else but in Saskatchewan (you can hear that it is a large call center in the backround). I was told that they are in India and are a real company.  I was redirected to three different individuals ( Nick Watson, Shawn Parker, and the other would not give me his name, all with heavy indian accents) whenever I asked for information about the company.  When I questioned one of them about my aparent CLS ID#that he said was used to contact me he told me that he didn't believe that I could really find it and instead of giving me the number, he asked me repeatedly to give him step by step instructions as to how I got there.  Then he got very ignorant with me and hung up when I asked for an address for his location.  He would not give me an actual mailing address, and then told me just to send it to Mumbai, Puna  and told me that they would get it .  I have recieved these calls on numerous occasions and the callers have no idea who they are calling. They are rude and extremely difficult to understand, and when I ask if this is a scam, they hang up quickly or redirect me to another "Manager".  This is a scam and if you give them your info or access to your computer you will regret it.  I strongly suspect that those that vouch for there credibility are part of this scam. They are not doing any favours for race relations in Canada.

I to got  a call from this same number ceylon tech and this is a scam. Good rule of thumb as we always tell children never talk to strangers well same holds true for us older people. Thank god they never got any money but they sure did try. I did report this and so should everyone else to STOP THESE [***]!!!!!!!!!

Do not give access to your pc with the following telephone number 1855 888 5881 it is indeed a big scam.
On returning this call no-one answered!

I have also been geting thes calls and also calls from someone representing a company called Team viewer .com . I reported these to Rcmp fraud and also contacted Microsoft who clamed them to be hackers

I got a phone call today from 235-683-481, heavy foreign (Indian maybe Pakistani) accent. Lot of background noise, boiler room. Told me he was calling from Ceylon Technology. I asked him what CT had to do with me. Man immediately told me that I was having trouble with updates from Microsoft on my PC. I immediately told him to take his scam somewhere else. He asked me to repeat and I did. I hung up. This was nothing but a hoax call trying to either gain control of the computer and get private information or get a credit card number with access to my account. You have to be careful with cyber crime today and recognize it when it hits. Take note of the number above. It may be real or it may be a disconnected number that they manage to pipe through. If you visit the Ceylon Tech website they have an 800 number.

Who would be nave enough to allow someone from some third world country, to give help and fix your computer.
Rational would say RED FLAGS.
1) The tools for tuning up a personal computer are there supplied through Microsoft
2) There are several companies that offer reliable  software and free updates. regular maintenance up a no brainer.
3) antivirus software like AVG is still a top contender - free
4) 1 800 numbers for tech support through the actual manufacture usually 1 year.
5) delete any emails that look suspicious
6) avoid free games and social sites are more trouble then there worth
7) cc cleaner and defraggler is a bonus program - free
8) any reputable computer store can work wonders.
