CBV Collections. Newest fake number from a fake debt collector

Basically, these guys are calling about debts that are 10, 20 even 30 years old. They are all statute-barred meaning they cannot take you to court nor post to your bureau.

They call people trying to trick you into saying something so they can take the worthless debt they have and give them 2 years again to chase you. They might have paid 1 cent or less for it so its all pure profit for them. They know its worthless, they know its barred but they lie to try and get you to pay something that is legally uncollectable. Basically they are on par with any other scammer, to call them debt collectors is actually an insult to debt collectors

I have even heard of people getting calls for accounts they paid off 15-20 years ago. They try and demand proof it was paid. Knowing, of course, people don't keep records for that long. Classic double-dipping. My guess is they have a file of numbers and just try to claim things. So in effect its 100% profit as they just make it up knowing records aren't kept that far back

Toronto, Ontario called and said I owe Bell $185.90 they then asked for my sin number and address..CBV collections are annoying.
I would like to know how they got my cell number since it's a new number!
