I am glad that I am not the only getting the phone call from this number.  No message but they call 5 or 6 times within a half an hour.  Luckly I am not home

I am tired of this [***] that calls my number about -6-10 times daily. I will investigate and get to the bottom of it.

It is a collection agency. CBV, in Toronto.
Just so everyone knows, & this will [***] the collection agents: by Federal Law, a collection agency has the power to "Ask You to pay your bill and offer assistance in setting up a payment schedule" That is all. 1) they are never allowed to call you at your place of employment for any reason. 2) they can not, under any circumstances, harrass you into payment, by phone, mail or in person & they may not threaten you or your credit standing in any way. 3) You do not have to deal with a collection agency at any time. You are only obligated to deal with the original creditor, even if the agency has bought the account from them. You do not have to deal with them. 4) a collection agency can not put negative information on your credit file. 5) so in short... all they can do is "nicely" ask you to pay your bill. But we all know that they generally go way beyond that.
If you are having a problem with an agency, call the consumer bureau and report them and if it is a serious harrassment issue, or call at your place of employment, contact the police and file charges. These are federal laws that they must follow, but most offen do not and will push it to the limit. Yes, several collectors have been fired and / or charged under these laws. Some even jailed. Their employers usually get a fine & tell the authorities they never asked the employee to do that, thus leaving the employee on their own to take the blame. True sharks in every way.
If you are having financial issues, & most people do at one point or another in their lives, call a credit councilling service in your area. They are a free service in every province and will assist you. Do not deal with collectors on your own. If you can not afford to pay, the service will understand & work with you, without any judgement toward you, and no credit bruising. The calls stop immediately.

Yes, CBV Collections is correct. It is beyond harassment now. I have set all my phones to ignore these vultures but it is still frickin' annoying!!!

Infoguy above, true to his name, shared some really good information & even better advice on how to deal with these pricks. They are calling me over a $120 debt i cannot pay, & was wrongly stuck with. This is an absolute pittance for the corporation they are representing, and I've told them i can't, won't pay, and that they should take me to court. Of course, they won't go that far, as obviously anything court & lawyers would cost them would be much more than the amount they hope to collect.

After all that, and ensuring their client destroyed my credit rating, they STILL need to call at least 5 or 6 times a day. This strikes me as more than a little spiteful. To these [***], it's more than a business, it's a mission to do as much damage as possible to the so-called 'deadbeats' like me who are down on their luck (not to mention wrongly tagged with the charges in the first place).

it would make my day...no, YEAR to see someone really stick it to them somehow. I would try, but right now I'm completely consumed with trying to feed my children & find some work. If anyone can, or has heard of someone who has, please let me know!!!!

They have been calling in the last 4 years and I talked to them 2 times that the person was my tenant and had left the country for almost 10 years! Now, I won't even bother them, I hope they show up at the door and I just call the police on them and stop these b.s.. Have a nice day!  Thanks for the messages from Consumer Bureau.

Furthermore, the "could be" person name is like John Doe, there so many of them, I know at least 3 people with that name, so it could be a "Fraud"!!! Watch out!

Please get the Toronto municipal government to shut them down.

Try a free telemarketer blocking software. Or let your provincial or state. Ministry or government office of business look into it. You will get better results.

these idiots have been calling me everyday ...at least 7-8 times a day...starting as early as 7 in the freaken morning.....which is illegal !!!!!!!!
anyone who knows exact name of these idiots .... let me know ... i will report them... cause i cant find out who they are...they leave no messages..... and call me at times that i can't answer the phone as i am trying to work.....

I have googled this company, got their address and whatnot, and have made a formal complaint with the link you provided.
I first had to write them as per the website....
I hope other people can do this as well so these people will stop harrassing

CBV calls looking for the debit to be paid or they will take me to court to get the money. I invited him to do so because he already knows I have declared bankruptcy and his calls should have ceased. The caller  became angry and his language became very rude. I now have a whistle beside my phone.

Have no idea who they are. And am always put on hold till there is a rep available and the music they use is awful gets under my skin like some evil entity.lol Seriously if they need to talk then the agent needs to be right there when they call not on hold. They don't get my business with that attitude.

I have been getting these calls lately and they call before 7 am and don't stop until after 9 pm and if they want me bad enough then stop calling my cell phone and call my house and send me a letter with all the information in it because I will file with the BBB
