They have called me about three or four times recently, in the evening, leaving no message.  My son goes to Truman and every year a polite young student calls me asking for money for the parent's project.  I got a postcard recently telling me about this year's project - it's for technology related purchases.  Now that I know who it is, next time they call I will answer, have a nice conversation and give them a little money.

It's the number for their call service.  It varies depending on what group is using it, but it's mostly for alumni donations.

They are only there from like 7-9 each night.

I'm certain it has to be Truman State's TelAlumni. I just received a postcard a week or two ago saying they would be starting their TelAlumni calls soon. TelAlumni, if I remember right, is a calling center next to the Career Center (unless they moved it)  that calls out to alumni to donate to the school. It's a work/study program for most students who make the calls.

Lucky us.

I have 2 daughters going to Truman University. This number called me asking for my e-mail address and Employer Information. Truman University has my information. I thought this to be a bit scammy cause I called the number back and no one answered. On the caller ID it said MO ST.
Like from a Missouri State Office???  Still I don't know why someone would call me on a Sunday instead of Monday through Friday, normal working hours.. Kinda Weird..

I get calls from this number 4-5x/week at random times during the morning, afternoon, and night. No one is there if I answer and it just rings when I try to call back. It's definitely from Truman's campus (and I just graduated last year)... looks like one more thing to love about Truman.

I get a call from this number too. who the hell is this?  I went to Truman.

i got the call today. i work at tel-alumni as a coordinator and know that it IS NOT TEL-ALUMNI DOING FUND-RAISING.it is someone else....but their number is NOT in the truman records.....start calling DPS and report to them the class....they are the ppl that can help solve this problem

I have been having this same issue for the past couple of months.  Same story as everyone else....went to school there, get several per week, dead air when I answer and nothing when I call back.  I sent a nasty text back to the number...like that was going to do anything!  :-)  I plan to call the school and direct them to this website as a reference.  They will be informed that future contributions to the University depend upon their resolution of this issue...it has me that annoyed!

got the call -- did leave a message. It was the Mcnair program director calling me but left the callback number as X-5487

Got a call from them today, didn't answer it.  Then I called it back later anonymously and there was no pickup, no answering machine, just a bunch of rings.  Oh well.

I just got a call from this number too.  I picked up the call but there was only dead air.  I called the number back and same story, no one answered.  If this number was legit there'd probably be a VM to pick up.  Although I graduated from Truman, I've never updated my cell phone number with the Alumni Office.  The only office that had my number was Student Accounts; they needed it for a call-back number when paying my Perkins Loan.  (But who knows, all my info all be merged).  Wierd!

yeah, same story here - i'm a truman alumnus, and i've gotten about half a dozen calls from this number over the past 2-3 months, usually on a sunday evening around 6pm.  i figured it had to be a truman campus number because of the 660 area code and 785 prefix, like all other numbers on campus.  most of the time i've missed the call and the caller left no message, but when i finally was able to answer one last week, it was dead air - again, like all the others.  i did recently update my info with the alumni association because i'd moved, and i got a letter saying they would be making calls, but it seems like calls would be more helpful if there was actually someone on the other end to take the call... then maybe they wouldn't have to keep calling back and not leaving messages, you know??  the timing is weird too... sunday evening.  things that make you go "hmmm..."

I too am a graduate of Truman. It was Northeast MO State back then. I've been receiving the same calls with the same results (no one answers or leave a message). I wish they would at least let us know what the calls are about. Not even the Alumni association can give come up with any thing.

I had been getting calls from this # everyday for about a week and a half.  I didn't pick up b/c I figured it was them asking for money.  But today I got a text message from them "PLEASE CALL".  I talked to my friends (also TSU grads) and they got the phone calls but no text messages...I called right back, dead air.

I am a current student and have been here for 3 years and just recently started getting these calls like 4 or 5 times a week. I agree it must be a ploy to get us all together...Truman has outsmarted us once and for all, as if attending is not hard enough:)

Yep, it's Truman State's fundraising drive.  Once I read a couple of your posts, I realized who was calling me and not leaving a message.  Hey Truman State, or better yet, NMSU grads!!!  Hope you're doing well!  I'm in NE Tennessee and loving the mountains!
