    This is fraud. From this number you receive an alert that your bank account has been compromised and has a link to use to reinstate it. DO NOT GO TO THE LINK. The text will appear legitimate with the bank's logo. In my case it was Bank of America. It is not from your bank. If you think it might be, call your bank to check. Again do not use the link.

    It's a good policy to never click links from such alerts but equally prudent not to ignore.  In this case, you are absolutely correct.  This is a scam attempt.  Call to the number gets, "sorry this person has disabled their voicemail."  But if you get a fraud alert, call the number on your card, the published number or use the online portal for your bank.  If you call, ask to be transferred to the fraud department.  General customer service does not always have access to fraud alert.  Banks and CC companies sometimes use third party fraud detection companies.
