Got a call from them they sounded like he was drunk, couldn't understand him at all.

Call received at 7:13 AM and they left a message... "This is Mrs. Dixon from the law offices of [unintelligible] and associates.  This matter is urgent and a call must be returned today".

So I got a call from them, also.  Wait, more like 6 calls in a row (literally).

I answered and hung up immediately.  And had to do it SEVERAL more times.

I'm getting so freakin' pissed.

I don't know how these people got my number...they never leave a mssg.

Hello everyone. All these are is attorneys trying to collect a debt. Your original creditor has sold off the debt and taken a charge off/tax write off loss already. The debt has been bought several times and debt collection companies have not been able to collect. Next they get attorneys to try and INTIMIDATE you to pay the debt and say they will settle for 50 percent of the amount owed. The amount owed is BULLSH*T. What they do is say your balance was 500.00 original over years of penalties,interest etc. you now owe 1,300 and they will settle for 600.00 making you think you got a great deal. In fact you paid over 100 percent of the debt. Paying even 1.00 to a collection account will take your good credit and make an old collection account NEW again. This will create a huge credit score drop. Rememeber they don't give you this info. They are paid a bonus on how much they collect. They will threaten judgement liens or garnishment but they will not throw good money after bad. Over 80 percent of judgements never collect a dime. If you want free information go to www.lexingtonlaw.com     You can dispute with the creditor that the debt is not yours and they have to get verification. You have to do this in writing. Otherwise if you don't want to dispute BY LAW you get to dictate how they can try to collect. There is a letter you fill out where they are not allowed to call you anymore. If they do you can report them and they will pay thousands of dollars of fines. The letter sometimes you can fax in and others you need to send certified mail so you can hold their feet to the fire.

From then on all they can send is mailed letters which you can throw in file thirteen. Dave Ramsey's website has a sample copy of the letter to get them to stop. We have way more rights than people know about and the creditors sure won't tell you about them!

I have been dealing with people like these for a few years now. People please keep a watch on your credit report for these type of people. They reage your accounts on your credit report. If you find that they have done this report it to your credit agency. Let them know that you never had an account with this company. These people are rude and try and use every tatic in the book to scare you. DON'T LET THEM. Go to Gellisepi versues Equifax and see what the law says about these people. Report them to the Attorny General in their area, and send the stop letters via registered letter. Take it from someone who knows! This will work!

Yes, I get calls from these thieves, i just let it go to VM and never answer and if they leave a message, I just delete it.  They can go to hell.

I received a called from 678-205-1597 but i didn't call back during their regular buisness hours, but because on their voice mail they identified themselves a a debt collecting agency I went home and printed a credit report, thinking someone way have opened a deliquent account under my name. Of course I had nothing on my report out of the ordinary and my credit is fine, so it made me think it was a scam. I called again today (not from the phone number they had), just to see what they had to say and I spoke with a person. As soon as I said I thought this was a scam they told me they would consider the matter over. I didn't give them any information about myself and they didn't know who they were talking to, so if they really needed the money I'm thinking they would have tried a little harder. So I say be advised if you get a call from them again, cause they're a scam! I just want to know how they got my number!!!

NJ collection agency/law firm.  Attempting to collect on old debt that they purchased from other creditors/collection agencies.  When they offer you a pay off deal, like say 50% of what you owe, that is because they most likely paid less than 50% of what you owed for it, and they are trying to recoup their investment plus extra for their profit.  

FYI - the clock starts ticking on their collection attempts as soon as they make contact with you and it retarts every time they make contact with you, so if you talk to these guys, they can keep the clock ticking on your account for some time, even if you just pick up the phone when they call and tell them to go to hell, if you don't properly infrom them that you are exercising your rights under the FDCPA and tell them to stop calling you.  You can ask them for their address and send them a formal letter, but just telling them over the phone to stop calling should be sufficient.

Under the FDCPA you can dispute it.  Make them prove that you owe the debt in question, which forces them to provide you with information from the original account.

These idiots called me looking for a guy who had my phone number four years ago. When I asked where they got their calling list, they got a bad attitude. Hmmm. What did I do? I filed a complaint against them with the State Bar of Georgia, which is pending. My attorney thinks we should sue these bottom dwellers. You may or may not want to do the same.  Here is a copy of my letter:

Gentlemen:
    At 6:11 p.m. yesterday evening I received a collection call from an attorney licensed in your state.  The call was actually directed for a Mr. David Lopez, who had my phone number years ago.  I have had my phone number, through Verizon, for almost four years now. Anyway, the caller identified herself as “Rachael” and left me a message to return her call, which I did this morning.
    When I called the law firm this morning, I was transferred to Rachael.  She said she would remove my number from their calling list. When I asked where she got the list from, she became rude.  At that point, I asked her why I shouldn’t file a complaint against her law firm, she replied “You do whatever you want to do.”
    I thought lawyers were held to a higher standard than this.  If a lawyer from Georgia wants to harass us sun-loving hillbillies down here in Florida, shouldn’t they at least spend the extra dime to get an updated calling list?  One must wonder if every peanut picking pettifogger in the great state of Georgia has nothing better to do these days.
    If I need to do anything further to prosecute these horrible misdeeds, please contact the undersigned.

YES I GET A CALL FROM THESE IDIOTS EVERY DAY...THEY ARE CALLING FOR SOMEONE THAT DOESNT LIVE HERE AND I TOLD THE GUY ON THE PHONE AND HE DOESNT WANT TO LISTEN WHEN I SAID HE DIDNT LIVE HERE., NEVER LIVED HERE AND DONT KNOW WHERE HE IS..THE GUY SAID HE LEFT MY NUMBER FOR A REFERENCE NUMBER TO CALL BUT I KNOW HE DIDNT. SO I TOLD THEM NOT TO CALL ME AGAIN.

Thanks for sharing.  The State Bar of Georgia is nothing but a cover up, which will try to whitewash your complaint.  Also, you need to file a complaint against a specific attorney, not just the whole firm.  These collectors are not typically attorneys, so it becomes problematic.  Here's a better idea:  Complain to the Office of Financial Regulation in Florida.  Riexinger and Associates does NOT currently show a license to operate in Florida.  If they do happen to have one, it's under another name, which might appear deceptive.  For more info, look up debtorsfriend on the web.

Called my 805 area code number at 645 in the morning!!! Asking for my husband, yet this is MY cellphone number! Mrs. Patrick was her name, and when I told her what time it was, she said "I think I have the wrong number" and hung up.  ugh.. so RUDE!

Hey, I used to work at Riexinger & Associates!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Let me give you the lo down.. u got Michael Jens (Whatever!!!!) he's supposed to be a collection manager. I'm hoping his credit is A1 the way he talks to debtor and very afraid to confront them if they so happen to show up at 3100 Breckinridge Blvd, Duluth, Georgia.  then there is the puppet MASTER michael cowgill who runs the place upside down and doesnt no a lick about @$it. but everyones afraid of him. I no we were doing everything under the sun illegal but what can i say i need the $.  his leader is the big dumbie gray headed guy who nos nothin. this company need to be shut down ASAP. they dont gave a !2am about the FDCPA guidelines. tha loud guy who owns the place need to wake the F^(% up soon. he is being jukd.  i have more! going to contact a few more xRex employees. this is cool to talk about a company u dont work for anymore and laugh at the bad a&& reviews.
