I received a phone call yesterday from a gentleman claiming to work as an investigator for an attorney in Creek county Oklahoma.  He said i had wrote a check at check into cash for a  payday loan and the check had bounced.  He said i owed over 700 dollars but he would not give me an initial loan amount or even an exact date.  Started out saying it was in 06-07 then it went to 05.  I am going to call Creek county today.  The phone call sounded very suspicious considering he wanted the money immediately and lowered the amount to 300 after a 2 minute hold.

I just got the same phone call from UDPS stating I had defaulted on a payday loan from 2006. It sounded suspicious so I started asking questions. He became very rude and agitated and refused to send me any kind of paperwork regarding the matter. He just kept saying you can resolve this matter with processing today. He finally hung up on me! Everything about this call screams SCAM!

Got a call this morning at work from this company.  The woman stated is was from a payday loan that i took out over the internet, couldn't tell me when, or give me anymore information. Also stated that to avoid my employer receving paper work regarding this matter, I could resolve it over the phone with payment today. She was insolent and rude.

I just got the same call at my work today and he told me the same thing and said if it was not taken care of by 4pm today he would have me arrested for bank fraud and check fraud  ..I asked when this payday loan took place and he said in 2006 and I asked a few more questions and he could not give me anymore info. I told him I will have my lawyer look into this and he said ok have your lawyer call me by 4 and hung up ....if they call you again record the conversation and you can sue them as well

Not sure how these people have my number, yet again. This is the 8th "company" to try to pull this scam over the last 4 years. I find it funny that they all call about the same time of year.  I called them on it when they called and they became very hostile with threats of jail.  I called them idiots, even if I did owe them anything this is a civil matter.  I said I reported "their kind" several times to the FTC and the feds will be knocking on their door soon.

Best to ignore these idiots, just let them roll to voicemail and do not talk to them. DO NOT let them pressure you into giving your account info, they will clean your account out.

This guy calls himself "Senior Chief Peter McClain" and called from 678-527-8283. Said the loan was taken in 2006 and the "statute of limitations is almost up". Yes, you're trying to collect on an old payday loan that was already paid and pretending to be a law enforcement official. All class.

I didn't get the name of the person, but I have had these types of calls before. She said near-exact wording of what has been posted here about this specific number. I was told that this was a courtesy call regarding a debt from 2009 to see if I wanted to "settle this voluntarily" before blah blah blah some B.S. legal jargon that was supposed to scare me. But since I have NEVER had a check bounce (as they claim that's what happened) I told them that the facts of the call were fabricated and I hung up.

    Clearly a SCAM!

    Jess
This message was left on my best friend's voicemail (seriously, they have my personal references?) with a sense of urgency: "Hi Jessica, This is Ms. Boyd calling you because this is regarding a claim that's been filed against you here in my office. And yeah, I'm trying to help you out but I need to speak with you or your attorney here in the next hour. It's (877) 205-2906. Again, my name is Ms Boyd. It's 230 right now. I do need to speak with either you or your attorney, by 3:30."  Obviously, I didn't get the "message" until today, and so far the sky is not falling in.  :)  I googled the 877 number they gave me and this is the company I find: RSB Equity Group, LLC, basically a collection agency.  When I returned the call, I was prompted to leave all my contact information and someone would return my call.  Laughing, I hung up.  After looking through the previous posts, I figure they're probably calling about a loan that was already settled, so I don't feel that compelled to follow up with it.  I will file a complaint with the BBB, as I am truly annoyed that they called my friend rather than me.  I mean, if they can find out all that other info about me, surely they can find a proper phone number.

By the way, they are not registered with the BBB, but they already have 1 complaint filed against them.  I'm about to file the second.  I encourage everyone to file a complaint if they feel harassed or inconvenienced by them.  It could only help the situation!

Message for someone (not me) - "This is RSB Custodian Terry Patterson, we need to speak to you or your attorney about a claim that has been filed in our office...imperative that you call back...failure to return our call will result in further action being taken including paperwork being filed in Denton County (I'm not in Denton County) or papers being served at your place of work...call back at 877-205-2906...thank you and good luck."   Yeah, good luck to them since I have no idea who the person is that they were asking for...

Marie Brown has called several times from RSB Equity.  Says they will garnish my checks.  The debt is from 2006 and was included in my bankruptcy. They called my Human Resources and left a message. They could tell it was a fishy caller (scam) and did not call them back.  I am sending no contact letter today.
