- MJ122 replies to David Johnson| 1 replyYea- he's sooooo excellent that he can't be found in any online searches 😂
What a bunch of garbage. - Pudge replies to MJ122I reported David Johnson's shill post (shilling is not permitted on this site) to the moderators for removal. Seems they did their job. I searched the number on two pay-for-info sites and it comes back to a private party but those sites are notoriously unreliable. Call back to the number gets no professional identification, just "please state your name and press the pound key after your are finished. I got "Mike" who refused to tell me what is his "company." In fact, he became argumentative when I asked for his company name. Extremely unprofessional. Why wouldn't you identify yourself as a debt collector if that's what you legally do? No shame in that.Quote:Legitimate debt collectors must provide their name, company details, street address, phone number, and professional license number upon request. If they refuse to disclose this information, it may indicate that they are a scammer.
I did find Michael J. Scott (identified as caller in shill post) debt collector operating under the name Scott and Associates. From AI Assist:Quote:Scott & Associates, P.C., aka Michael J. Scott, P.C., is a debt collection agency and law firm located in Carrollton, Texas. If you see Scott & Associates or Michael J. Scott, P.C. listed on your credit report, it typically means that a collections account has been registered under your name. This is often a result of an unpaid bill.
From: https://plaincollector.comQuote:Insights: Law Office of Michael J. Scott, PC
Law Office of Michael J. Scott, PC has accumulated 522 total CFPB complaints across 15 states, with 148 filed in the most recent 12 months against 374 historical complaints before that window. The trailing-12-month volume represents 28.4% of the full complaint history, a rising pattern that suggests escalating consumer friction rather than a legacy book of disputes.
The dominant consumer grievance logged with the CFPB is "Attempts to collect debt not owed", narrowing to "Debt is not yours", which aligns with FDCPA-regulated conduct and signals the operational area most likely to trigger regulator scrutiny. The company posts a 98% timely-response rate against a 30% consumer-dispute-after-response rate, a pairing that calibrates how well its complaint-resolution workflow holds up once a consumer pushes back.
Complaints have been recorded across 15 states, led by Texas with 294 and California with 54, which matches a multi-state collection footprint rather than a regional operation. Normalized against the full CFPB collector database, the reputation score of 53.8/100 places Law Office of Michael J. Scott, PC in grade band D, a tier reached by blending complaint volume, response timeliness, dispute rates, and issue severity into a single comparable metric. - Mike Scott replies to Nimrod| 7 repliesOne of my associates just brought this to my attention, there is nothing fake about us. My number is 682-277-2892. I just got a call from Nimrod aka MJ122 aka Pudge from a "blocked number" she said her name was Angela Green after stuttering. I am unsure why she is disparaging my firm. We are 100% legit! I would have to assume at this point that this is an unhappy defendant in a previous case. She is hiding behind numerous cloaks trying to disparage our firm. I read one post where she claimed to be with FBI. This is ridiculous. It seems she is the moderator of all these forums and blocks people's comments if they don't fit her narrative.
- MJ122 replies to Mike Scott| 2 repliesThrow us a business address then. There's nothing legit about a phone number that isn't searchable.
- Pudge replies to MJ122I think Mr Scott needs a good PR firm.
- Pudge replies to Mike Scott| 3 repliesMr. Scott, the moderators removed what was obviously a shill post and yes, I reported it. Shilling is not permitted on this site. In addition, I posted nothing that isn't publicly available regarding your firm. Some free PR advice; Professionals identify themselves and their company when called. Established collections agencies such as CBV, ABC Financial, ARM, Portfolio Recovery, etc. all identify themselves when you call and when they call you. In addition, their identifying intros tell you, the calls are recorded, it is an attempt to collect a debt, etc. before you've even reached a live person. Had you read my post, you would realize that it is in opposition to Nimrod's post in that I confirmed you are a debt collection agency. I also found your website but the moderators might remove my post if I put it up. Your website (established on July 19 2023 and expiring on July 19 2026) contains the important statements "This is an attempt to collect a debt by a debt collector. Any information obtained will be used for that purpose." Might I suggest you use that in your telephone greeting? You might also want to include your phone number on that site. That will enable people to determine the caller and eliminate the need for people to guess who you are on phone number look up sites.
I forgot one very important point. I may be completely wrong. Nimrod may be right; these calls could be from someone purporting to be a debt collector and usurping the Michael Scott name. That's another reason why shill posts are removed. The call could be from an impersonator. That's why it's so important to give your targets a published phone number by which they can initiate the call. and when they do, identify yourself fully. Scammers are clever and people get conned everyday. Cheers.
PS I am NOT Nimrod nor MJ122 but I am certainly better looking. - Nimrod replies to Pudge| 2 replies
I cannot speak for MJ122, but I definitely differ with your opinion.Pudge wrote:... but I am certainly better looking.
My avatar alone is so much better looking than yours!
(And it hardly does me justice.) - Pudge replies to Nimrod| 1 replyWell, you and MJ122 are certainly more clever but you must admit, I am a classic Q-tip beauty!
- Nimrod replies to PudgeI will give you that.
- Nimrod replies to MJ122
If they do give you a response, it will most likely be a Regus virtual office space or one of those itty-bitty "suites" in a strip-mall UPS Store that scammers (especially the fake debt collector types) are so find of.MJ122 wrote:Throw us a business address then.
But, do not hold your breath over it. I am still waiting for this "Attorney's" Bar number to be posted, which was asked for in early February.
