My partner got scammed by a website asking for mobile number to verify sellers details when he was looking for a car. They sent 2 texts back which were charged at £1.50 each. Luckily he looked at his statement and had the number barred before they could text again. Their website is www.oxygen8communications.com. Complete con.

I have been charged for two calls from this number. Each costing £1.50. I have made no calls to this number nor have I given my mobile phone to any website. I have checked and made nor received any phone calls from my mobile phone on that day. These sort of scams should be preventable and refundable.

I have just had mobile phone bill & included in this bill (much higher than normal) are 2 premium text from 700034348 each at £1.50. I am totally unaware of this number & don't use my mobile for anythng other than is in my allowance. I acnnot find where or who this is connected to. I need to contact my mobile company to get this stopped.

Just got my mobile bill and I have four £1.50 texts to this number.  I have never sent any text to this number and only use my phones allowances too.

My network supplier, EE/Tesco Mobile, offered little support with this matter with no positive assurance that the could do anything about it.

There is a blocking mode in your phone, network provider has nothing to do with it.

Make sure you always come out of your message box every time you finish reading a message. This way, when you get a new text message, it does not automatically open to read. If you then just go your inbox and see the beginning of the message in the list, you will know if it is a message worth reading or not. If it's not, delete it without opening it. Sometimes, if you just open and read the message, you get charged. This is particularly important when you are travelling abroad on roaming, so you are charged only for the messages you need to open and read, all other rubbish can wait till you return home. This number is used by Citybeat (Q Radio) in Belfast for their competition text line.
I found 2 texts (sent) by family members and responses from this number after investigating 2 x £1.50 charges.   It was legit.

It's happening to me too, but no such number is on my phone?? No idea how to block a number which is charging me but not on my phone... They've charge me £10?so far !!!!

Just wondering  why I have been charged 17.40 for receiving  your txt messages really not happy about this and find it very sneaky and underhand have been in touch with my mobile  company who has made me aware  of this could you please reenburse me and do not send me any more txt messages

Keep getting this number up on phone and it is charging me every single time 1.25 or more mostly in the morning but can't answer or send text back . It is really annoying as I don't have a clue what it is . I have blocked number so will see in June if it happens again and then ring EE up and see if they can do anything as can't afford to keep doing this .

The number is neither a genuine phone number nor a genuine shortcode which might explain why you cannot call them back.    You show the name of the caller as "Olympus8" whereas the very first post in the thread says "Oxygen8" and gives a web address.   Ask EE to identify the caller properly for you and get them to give you true contact details if they cannot or will not stop it or give you refunds.   Once you have the details have a look at PhonepayPlus.    http://www.phonepayplus.org.uk/    They are supposed to be the Regulators for such things on behalf of OFCOM.

I've been charged £3.75 per week my phone bill practically doubled I have tried to block this number total con artists

Got my monthly phone bill and this number is on my account sending me texts, although I blocked the number some time ago I've still been charged 1.25 every text they're sending me, it's every 3 days on average. EE have also blocked the number but don't seem interested in refunding me or finding out who they are. Looked them up on Google and it's the usual London based company. Gonna try and contact them directly to try and find out how they can send me a text that I don't receive yet get charged for. ?
