Just Got charged £.8.33 + VAT  No idea who this is and I never rung or texted it

I got charged 8.33 plus vAT too and have no idea why or who they are.

It is comic relief mate - i guess you pledged during the telethon via your mobile and this is how is appears on your account....

Should change it to con comic my daughter just got stung for £8.33 twice when she thought she was paying £1.50. Guess who wont be giving again.Cant beleive this is being allowed!!!!!!!!.

Couldn't understand why my sim only contract for £10 per month came to over £20 when I knew I'd only made a few calls over my 100mins limit! This 70010 number appeared on my phone bill as a received multimedia message, and I haven't got the foggiest recollection of receiving such a thing! It cost me £10 to receive it!! where is it coming from???//gggrrrrrr  And if it's comic relief, then how come the £5 I pledged turned into £10?? it's disgusting!!

i never pledged any money to anything, yet £10 was added to my bill....NOT happy

I pledged on my mobile and was charged 8.33 plus VAT to recieve a text TWICE!!!
As a charity isn't Comic relief exempt from VAT?
I am disgusted that this Conic relief of our money is legal and I will be approaching WatchDog to get them to look into this SCAM

I pledged 5.00 for comic relief. It has taken that money plus another 8.33. I will never pledge anything by text again. They won't do themselves any favours if they do this.

its comic relief -- much to my disgust . I donated via mobile but they send a text thanking you & you get charged to receive that text . . I phoned o2 about my bill showing over £4 for this number & was told this -- they  said it was sneaky, not many people notice these items on their bills . I have now got them to put a stop on all these numbers getting through to  my number

Exactly the same here. Charged £8.33 for a £10 donation. Spoke to O2 this afternoon who said it was Comic Relief who 'took' that charge and I should contact them on 0870-2480277 (note: another chargeable number).

The 8.33 + VAT which comes to £10 which you are being charged is your donation, it's not a charge for making your donation.

If you texted 70010 to make your donation it was a £10 donation, if you meant to donate £5 you texted the wrong number.

Yes.Thats happened to me.Bad crack.So i phoned my service provider and they called them for me.Did nt say who it was but, you have text them to stop the subscription or leave a message on their answer machine for customer services..Really faceless .I m well hacked off..I bet they ll charghe me to cancel it..

Just looked at my April O2 bill and I too have been billed for £8:42 from Con. Relief.  Never again.  I was told by the O2 Guru to send text to 70010 with one word 'STOP'. However this does not mean that the overcharge will be refunded!  Lesson learned.

ive noticed my daughters contract phone bill has been  is higher than normal over the past few months so i checked it on line and number 70010 comes up a lot,  after seeing the comic relief message on here i figure that yes we did donate £10 to it through her phone. BUT she is getting charged for other text from the same number 70010, if this is comic relief doing this i am not going to be happy !my daughter is under 16 and cant be expected to know shes getting charged for this as we didnt and she got a right bollocking for it (me thinking she had down loaded something)
