I received a call from 702-486-4000@ 5:56 p.m. July 5, 2012. What State agency is calling me? I tried calling right back and got message: we are unable to complete this call at this time. Please try again later. Who is this? I know 486 is a State prefix

I did not answer this call, though I did call the number back, and it " we are unable to complete your call at this time"..blah blah blah...ooh and this was called to my cell number

robo call from carpet cleaning company. Pain in the a** you can't call back

State of Nevada Unemployment Office in Carson City, Nevada.  The actual call came from an extension of the number (775) 684-6300 which is the 'Contributions Section' department of the State of Nevada Employment Security Division.  Apparently, (702) 486-4000 will show on a caller id for many state government departments.

This number belong to the State of nevada some [***] is using it to upset thousand of
people.We must stop the employee that is doing this,our tax is paying for this pig salary.

It's City of Las Vegas.

Caller claimed to be from Medicaid Investigating an organization.  When I called the number back, it was a non-working number.

Generally, these calls are coming from an agency within the State of Nevada.  When a state employee calls from a line wihtin a state office in southern Nevada (702 area code) a generic 486-4000 number is generated for caller ID. You may well get a telephone call, at all hours, from a law enforcement or regulatory agency such as the Nevada Highway Patrol or State Contractor's Board. However, since the actual extensuion used by the employee is not disclosed, when you call it back...... you don't reach the person that called you.

I cannot discount that there may be spoofed calls by telemarketing companies but I CAN tell you that a majority of these calls are likely from legit government agency.

In your case, it is possible that you have been identifed as a witness/victim to an investigation by any number of State of Nevada agencys. Get the name of the department or division and then call them back on a publicily listed phone number.

I received a call from this number twice today:  9:30am and 9:31am.  I try calling it back and get that message that the person I am dialing is not accepting calls at this time.  ???

Not sure who this may be.  I am expecting important calls but not one from this entity.  The message just says, "The person you are trying to reach is not accepting calls at this time. Please try your call again, later.   Message 24NV02ML"   Hmmmm.  Guess I would have to work at the phone company to figure this one out!

I received a call from someone saying they were from Social Security, they gave a different number than the one on caller id.  I called the caller id number first, the message said I won a hundred dollar Walmart gift card.  I then called the number in the message, he gave a first name and a garbled last name, no mention of being a Social Security Rep.I looked up the second number and it gave a State of Nevada ID.  Social Security is not a State of Nevada Department.

This is parole and probation if anybody Doesnt know I just received a phone call from my parole officer
