- JeriThey call me as many as 29 times a day. I have their calls documented on my vonage phone account. They are a debt collection agency for Care Credit and GE Money Bank. I sent them a cease and desist letter by certified mail, which they signed for. By law they cannot continue to call me. They stopped for 3 weeks, sent the case back to GE Money Bank who called me daily for 3 weeks. Now ERMI is calling me 20+ a day again. Clear violation of the Federal Trade Commision laws protecting debtors. I once saw a link for attorneys online who will sue harassing creditors such as this for you. I'm going to look into that otherwise they will never stop! It is also against the law for them to call you at work when you tell them you are not allowed to receive personal calls at work. I've started getting calls at my work now too.

- ShannonThese people keep calling my house, it's 8am on Sunday morning and they are calling. When I answer, they ask for my husband (who has been camping with our children since Wednesday) which I told them. I tell them he isn't home, and that I am his wife and I can help them, they told me that in our state, it's illegal for them to talk to his spouse so they will call back another time. I have asked them 8 times in the past 3 days to stop calling and they continue to call at least 3 times a day. It drives me up a wall!!!

- BruceIt's a rcvable management company. They buy debt from other companies (ex: GE CAPITAL/Rooms to Go). You're getting calls from them becuase your more than 90 days past due (or someone in your house) with a debt. It is not a business collections agency, they are a consumer collection agency.
- BruceAlso - if you are not the person they are asking for - you need to ask for a manager. When the manager gets on the phone - you need to advise them on you being harrased. Tell them they the person is not listed at this number, and they need to stop calling. You can advise them that the "skip-trace" (software used by collection agencies to locate persons using public information) will not list the party they're trying to reach, and by law they need to stop calling, or threaten to call the Attorney General, and have them sued. You then need to ask for the managers first name, and operator number. Document the conversation, and if they call back - you have the right to take legal action, and go after liquadated damaged.
- whatWhat is this?
- JoeAfter doing some research and making some phone calls to people (who shall remain nameless). They are certainly a debt collection company and as per the Fair Credit Reporting Act by law they have to inform you that their call is to collect a debt. If they do call just pick up the phone and get them to talk to you and try to resolve the issue, even if it's not about you. Then ask them outright if they are a debt collection company and if they refuse to answer then remind them that under the Fair Credit Reporting Act if they are a debt collection company then they must by law tell you.

- MustanggirlWho are these people? It shows up ermi on my caller id.
- EThis number belongs to ERMI, a collection agency that collects for GE money.
- HarrassedFor over a month now we've been woken up from our sleep at 8am by ERMI looking for a "Mary Smith". We've repeatedly told them there was no Mary Smith at this nimber and we know no Mary Smoth. We've twice spoken to a manager "Camille", asking for these calls to stop. Camille said that ERMI has no ability to stop the calls because they receive this information from outside sources. Camiulle was very uncooperative, refusing to provide the source or purpose of their information. When I asked for contact information to their corporate legal or complaint area, she refused and told me to look it up online. The online web site for ERMI has no such link other than a general toll free number that nobody answers. I informed Camille that I would be filing a formal complaint with the FTC and FCC for harrassment...

- BThey call til 10 at night. One day alone they called 31 times.
I suggest you call Mark W Begor (203) 762-3902
he's the CEO of that crappy GE Money Bank -from now on, for every call they make to me, he is getting one of his own. let's do what they do - just keep hanging up every time his home machine picks up. we should let him know how invasive and violating of the Fair Debt Collections Practices Act this is. and it's legal for us to return calls - he needs to be responsible for his rude employees and illegal tactics.- Caller: Ge money bank
- kkeep getting calls from them
