- JoyI was told a few years back by the police department the the Police Protection Fund is a scam. If you want to hear them hang up really fast, tell them that your spouse is a police officer and your family is having a hard time paying bills and ask how can you go about getting a donation from their fund. The only thing you hear is "click".
- Josh MarshburnOur phone rings and no answer no one on the other end. This is very annoying.
- Caller: Do not know unknown
- TimothyI got a call demanding that I send these people money. He was very persistant and would not let me get off the phone.. the number was different but it said Police Protect on the caller ID.. The number was from 727-863-5033. If this is a scam I hope he is reprimanded immediately. He was very rude and basically demanded I give money to him.

- Tim ShepardI keep getting calls as well and these guys are VERY PUSHY, call you by your last name (Johnson, Jones,, Shepard, etc) and will continue even after you say can't give. They actually said we're "putting you down for $50.00" then immediately demand a card number. If these guys are cops then that is why cops get a bad name! They act as if it's YOUR DUTY to give, even if you yourself is jobless. BUNCH IF [***]!! !

- Robert & Mirka ChristesenAt 10:14 am this morning we got another cal from the Police Protective Fund requesting to speak with my wife about contributing money. The Fund carries a 0- rating (no stars) but tried to tell mr he was not a telemarketer & 100% of contributions go to the organization. That is not the case. Charity Navigator shows that less than 15% goes to the program & over 80% to fundraising with no accountability whatsoever. I am tired of getting these calls with aggressive callers for this scam.

- sarah replies to Mthey just called me and I think it's because rumors of you taking a minor...because I think back and that's the only reason I can think of why they would call.
- Nancy replies to Tom GeeAs if we don't "donate" enough money through our property taxes! This is a scam that has been going on for as many years as I care to remember. They used to use the local sherriff department's widows and orphans fund as a reason to beg for money. They used to send out letters and now, they just boldly ask for credit or debit card numbers then as soon as you hang up after giving it to them, they have access to empty your bank account.
- TiffanyI just received a call from this number and I answered because it said Police Protect on my caller ID and I said Hello 2 or 3 times then I got that ring and message for when someone hangs up so I hung up. I googled it to try to find out if it was a real Police number and I found this web site.
- Caller: Police Protect
- A victim of Police Protection ScamYes. This is a scam out of Charlotte NC. If you call the number they'll tell you their working on the behalf of the Police. They won't identify Charlotte, Raleigh, etc. But you can trust them. They WON"T ACCEPT CHECKS!
- Caller: SCAM
- Call type: Telemarketer
- Just HereI have also received calls from "Police Protect...". I answered the first time just out of curiosity, since I didn't recognize the number. The second I did though, they asked for my mother. They immediately thanked my mother for donating a "generous sum" to their organization. Which got me suspicious because my mother hasn't donated money to ANYONE. They then asked me if I would like to continue these generous donations today and pick up some sort of sticker. I then asked them, "Sir, I'm sorry, but I don't recall donating any kind of money to your group. When did this start exactly?" They automatically hung up on me. Surprisingly though, they called again on July 1st. I didn't bother answering though. Instead I decided to look up and see if anyone else had received these calls form them. And now I know.

- PatWe are receiving multiple calls each day from this number and have received calls over the past eighteen months from this same number. Yesterday, after the third call, I asked the individual calling "respectfully to remove my name from your call list". He hung up the phone.
Today the calls began around nine o'clock this morning. The first two calls went unanswered and the third was answered by my wife. She, in much stronger terms than mine from yesterday, again asked to have our phone number removed from their call list. This time the individual became belligerent and then hung up.
Upon arriving home today, we were greeted with another call from this number which I answered and the caller hung up without a word. If this doesn't qualify as harassment, what does?
Does anyone known of a way to put a stop to this practice and see that these people are prosecuted for this obvious scam???????- Call type: Telemarketer
- Linda McLeanPretending to be a police charity. SECOND time we got this call.
